padding around images on mobile

Hi, Using this code to reduce gutter space between images. Unfortunately on mobile this results in uneven space between images. Any idea why? On bpbile the padding is also affecting the outer margins of the page...

I'd be so grateful for any help. Interestingly when I set padding to 0 it fully closes the gap between some but not all pictures. and almost entirely removesthe outer margin.

Thanks for your reply and for looking into this.

I've attached two images. One shows two screenshots side by side, showing the difference in spacing. The other shows it when I set padding to 0. And there is some space still between images. Also it removes/reduces the outer margin. So less space between images means things don't line up with the logo any more.
