Add an image to top of blog page in 7.1

I gave my blog a name and would like an image with the blog header to appear at the top of the page, above the title, every time someone opens a post. It could also be on the side, but I have found anyway to customize the sidebar of blogs in 7.1

I figured out how to add a content block on my blog homepage as shown in the link. Is there custom code that would allow me to display an image on every post or create a sidebar?
