Does anyone know if it's possible to introduce cursor fade and transparent lightbox options on a Summary Wall gallery?

I want to:

a) Have a cursor fade appear when hovering through the gallery (before the user clicks through to view the images larger)

b) Once the images have been clicked I would like the lightbox option to be white/transparent as opposed to the standard black it is now

Not sure if its possible but any help would be very much appreciated!
