Button Style in Event Listing

Hello, I know I was able to do this for other sites I have designed but having trouble with this one...can not find where I can choose what style of button appears on the excerpt of a event listing - see image. Just want to choose button style 2 or 3 as button style 1 is too large. Thanks.

Background images pixelated/distorted while editing

No, not using any image effects..that's the way the image looks when I first place it. Then once I save and exit the edit mode the image corrects itself.

Has anyone else noticed lately that when placing a background image it is pixelated and distorted and only corrects after you save and exit the page? This never happened previously - just noticed in the last moth or so...see before save and after photos below..
