I do not understand why so many users request this - (already 5 years ago), but nothing happens? Is this the level of customer service that squarespace wants to provide?

This feature would be extremely useful!!!
    Squarespace mods, please listen!!!!!
It is November 2021 and we still cannot copy section blocks from one page to another page.
I used the list block feature to create a 4x4 list of images and text that I want to use on 8 pages but I will have to build these all manually. This is a lot of work for a basic feature. At the very least, we should be able to save our own content blocks in the Section Library.

In a past life I used a CMS that was great for reusing content. A block (called a box on LibGuides) could be copied into another page as a stand-alone piece which can be edited separately to the original. OR ... even more helpful .... a block could be reused as mapped to the original, which means one edit will update all instances of the reused block.
    C'mon, let's have it please!

Imagine building a CMS used worldwide and not giving users the ability to move sections between pages.  Its really like the most basic function I can think of.  Why could squarespace think of it?

Amazing that this feature still does not exist. I am surprised that SS is not moving at least with the competition...

I would welcome this functionality too.
I've created a "happy customers" carousel and would like to have it on several existing pages without having to create it each time.

I tried copying and pasting between tabs and it didn't work for me either. Are you copying source code or copying image icons or?

Bump. Came here researching ways to achieve this as well.

For instance, there's this Section Library for a footer when I click Add a Section in my footer.
Why can't I save my own section to such a library for placing into other pages?

    Hi Holocene_X,

I am looking to duplicate just a section within a page, not the whole page. This solution worked great with anything before 7.1 because made use of Indexes, and each "page" was a section, but I am looking to duplicate that experience with 7.1 and am not finding a way, and replicate just certain sections more quickly across several pages.

(Unless I'm totally missing something, and Indexes are able to be replicated in some manner in 7.1)

I was trying to copy a gallery from one page to another and couldn't figure out how so I Googled the issue and ended up here in a thread that is a couple years old complaining about not being able to move content from one page to another.  Kind of wishing I had stuck with Wordpress at this point but oh well, I guess I will manually re-upload and rearrange all the photos again on an existing page (and no, duplicating pages won't help me here)

I was a hobbyist coder for a while and built my site using Gatbsy - based on React. The great thing about those was isolated REUSABLE COMPONENTS that can be pulled into a page wherever you want, multiple times over multiple pages if that's what you wanted.
I couldn't keep up with the coding, so am using Squarespace. It does look fantastic simply using a template and ready-made styling. But this feature of building a page using REUSABLE COMPONENTS is sady missing! I want a section from one page (a list... each item has an image, a title, and a description) to also appear lower down on the home page. It's not very practical to have to edit in both places every time I want to make a change. (I'm using to list events.)

Does anyone know if this is being worked on yet?

Also here to complain that I need to manually replicate a section on another existing page... Now I need to and manually monitor and updates 5 identical non-linked sections? Ridiculous! Huge fail on Squarespace's part. Get on that update Squarespace! This thread originated over a year ago!

A real world example for use I have for this feature.  I created 40 pages of material.  Just pages, not a blog, product, gallery, etc.  Then, to my surprise, I add a search button.  Turns out search only searches specific material (?) like tags, categories, blog titles, etc - but NOT the general text of a page (this is a whole separate gripe).  So in order to achieve the search feature we need, Im going to have to recreate each page as a blog or other searchable entity.  If I could simply copy or move content blocks to a new blog page this would be an easier task,  But without this content block copy/move option I have to convert 40 pages to blogs from scratch.  SQSP, I hope this feature can be added.

This is 101 functionality for a CMS... very frustrating that this is not available.
SS looks pretty to start but lacks basic flexibility. Considering moving to a more flexible platform.

Hi - can you explain your McGyver move of page to page movement of a section?  I'm new (and dim) so I don't get how your dragging content from one window to the next. Is there an incantation that goes with this move, or burning of sage or something?

I am still in my trial period and was possibly going to use Squarespace for several sites, but lack of such a basic functionality to make sure your design elements are consistent and you're not wasting your time is worrying. Also, what if you decide to just reorganize your site so that some elements from one page should now be on another, it's frustrating to have to create them again "from scratch" as opposed to just selecting and moving them.

Just stunning that this extremely basic functionality isn't already part of Squarespace, seeing as it's been requested - vehemently - since 2017 at least.  I found all these delightful threads full of people who would love to be able to do something like, say, use the same form they created on one page on another, or copy/paste a section of laboriously arranged blocks so that they needn't recreate hours of work over and over.  Each of these threads ends with "perhaps you should request this feature!"
So, exactly what does it take to get Squarespace to even notice repeated, consistent requests for a feature from multiple users over the course of multiple years?  Are we expected to convey our requests via a note tied to a brick thrown through the home office window?  I'm willing to do that if it'll spark a little activity on the backend.  Perhaps the feature we need to request is a REQUEST FEATURE feature, since the one we currently are being repeatedly told to use is completely nonfunctional.
Squarespace charges a truly shocking amount for a desperately mediocre service; the least y'all could do is actually pay attention to your customers.

This would massively speed up page development - being able to not just duplicate a Section - because how often do you want the two sections the same on the same page - but to save Sections (effectively your own Section Templates) to be used on other pages.
It would also be of huge value to clients, for whom we could build out a library of Section Templates for them in addition to Page Templates.

Agree that this would be a super useful feature. We have similar elements we're using across pages, Would be so nice to not have to recreate them, or do some duplicate page acrobatics. Could someone make a plug-in! 🙂
