Tiernan got a reaction from krisTTG in Comments in member areas confusing
I do not understand the comments set-up for Member Areas. With "Allow anonymous comments" turned on, my members have to enter their name and optional email when they press "Post comment" button. They shouldn't have to do this if they are logged in members. However, if I uncheck the option for "Allow anonymous comments," the commenting field disappears entirely. This makes no sense. Why would turning off anonymous comments completely remove the ability to add a comment?

I'm quite disappointed how low value members only content I can provide with Square space, it has been a costly misfortune. It's really upsetting how hard commenting on blogs is. And the fact that it is even impossible to search for blogs / videos with tags inside the membership area.
Could someone tell me how they thought we might be able to use this feature at all?
I'm trying to connect and grow industry professional community and I keep running into these missing key features all the time.

Tiernan got a reaction from Conejo Joe in Archive block disappearing and reappearing for no reason
Thank you for weighing in, Paul. I have submitted a ticket as you suggested. I cannot believe the fact that a basic component of site doesn't not functioning is not considered an urgent issue by the company. The fact they would let this go unaddressed is astoundingly bad management on the part of this company. I'll be looking for places to move my site. I've had it with this company.

Tiernan reacted to paul2009 in Changing design of "read more" link
You can use some CSS to remove the arrow by using ::after to create a pseudo-element that replaces the caption with some new text (without the arrow!) and then hide the original content by setting visibility to hidden. I gave an example in this guide: Changing ‘Read More →’ links on Summary Blocks.

Tiernan got a reaction from creedon in User of member areas complaining of having to constantly log in again
Creedon, thank you for weighing in. The user now informs me that in subsequent usage, the problem has gone away. So, it may well have been as you suggested.

Two things are coming to mind immediately. The user may have blocked cookies for your site or they are using a Private browsing window which forgets the login after they close the window.

I see my mistake, the text size attribute had to be included inside of the summary block CSS. Thank you very much for your help Tuanphan!

That's really neat, thank you for pointing that out!

Developer Heather Tovey created a chrome extension specifically for finding various Squarespace IDs (such as blocks, sections, collections, etc.). I've been using it for several years now, and it's a huge timesaver. A must-have for anyone who builds with Squarespace.
