    Wolfsilon got a reaction from studioearl in is it possible to mix two types of fonts over each other per titel?
    Hello there,
    You're probably right in not making images because scaling will certainly cause problems although, the alternative might cause just as many smaller problems...
    What I would do is write the titles twice, once in the regular font but the second one (the one you want to have the handwritten font) should be in Italics or Bold.
    1) Install your handwritten font to your website.
    2) Identify the block-ID for each block with the two titles.
    3) Target the "em"(italic) or "strong"(bold) and set the font family for it to your custom handwritten font -- adjust the font-size, line-height, weight, and maybe width/height  -- You might have to do this for the regular font too.
    This should help you create two different fonts on one block but you might have word or line wrap problems. You'll have to play around with these but you can also create a pseudo layer to help.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from tuanphan in How to get text next to image on mobile view and not under/above?
    This will require some Custom CSS to achieve this layout. To do this, start by defining the point when you want the layout to switch for mobile devices. For the purpose of this, I'll be using the Squarespace default "640px".
    #mederi9 { @media only screen and (max-width:640px) { .sqs-col-6 { display: flex; flex-direction: column; align-items: center; justify-content: center; margin: auto; padding-right: 0 !important; } .sqs-row { display: flex; flex-direction: row; width: 100% !important; flex-wrap: nowrap; align-items: unset; justify-content: center; margin: auto; padding: 0 !important; } .sqs-block-image { display: block; width: 100px !important; } .sqs-block { padding-right: 0 !important; } } } Hope that this helps,

    Nice post.
    The problem is that these methodologies are being used by everyone and the datasets that are being accessed are limited, even if everyone is saying that they come from their own unique source.  Even Google's own keyword suggestions tool will only show you decent data if you are spending money in Google Ads.
    Add to that the fact that nearly every commercial position - IE a keyword that has commercial value - is taken up by a paid-advertising slot, which are then followed by organic positions that are so far down the page as to be almost worthless for ranking and lead-generation purposes. Then factor in personalized listings and the whole thing becomes unmeasurable due to variances based on their past search history.
    I think analyzing the search market for your segment is the most important thing to do and to then isolate the elements of pages as a clue to what people actually want to find against a search phrase. SEO has long-term value but I might be more inclined to run a short-term paid search campaign for keywords the "tools" say are important and then look at engagement metrics of those audiences to help isolate the keyword choice to then recurse back up to the SEO task.  You could do this on a different web-domain as it is just R&D.
    Bear in mind that Google Ads now use what's called close-variants so the keyword you type in might not actually be the keyword the advertiser targeted. I would also make sure that the website ticks all the core web vitals box.
    What I would also say is that if you are launching a website from scratch, try and make sure as much of the optimisation is done as possible so that on the first visit by search you have everything in place. If you have a website and are re-optimising page elements significantly expect up to 4 months to pass before you can reliably consider the pages to have been re-indexed and settled properly.
    This is not replying at the previous posters who also bring their views that are valuable, but I hope this can help others.

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from JodiR in Fixing Disabled Script
    Hello,
    I couldn't see where the button is supposed to be, is it on the home page? I don't see a payment plan section either. Also, this message commonly shows when you have installed it incorrectly or do not have custom javascript enabled on your website. Be sure that you have a Business plan with Squarespace. Custom scripts are only supported in Business or higher plans. If you have a Business plan....
    How are you installing the code? Are you using a code block? Sometimes these scripts require that you add portions of it via Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > Header/Footer injection menus. To me, this looks like it could go in the Header Code Injection field. Let us know!
    Thanks,

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from bangank36 in Adding a timer and/or redirect
    There are certainly ways to do this, but not without some customized code/Javascript. You can also use a plugin like this one to create a timer and redirect function. Just install it on the page the viewer is redirected to after they signup for your newsletter and set the timer to redirect back to whatever page you want.
    The issue you'll have with a solution like this, especially if it's a monetary tool for you, is that there isn't really anything stopping a viewer from returning to the page after the timer has expired. You would need to automatically scramble the URLs or create an access token that expires per user/per session. This type of system isn't really possible on Squarespace, if it is. It would need to be done by a professional developer.
    Realistically though, I don't think someone would really take advantage of that workaround but it's just a thought perhaps something to consider in the future.

    Hope this help!

    Not related, but you can use bradguide to do this on same site, no need to create 4 sites. I just helped a member creating "3 category sites" on same site with different logos, logo link, main navigation, footer

    If a device doesn't have support for Javascript then Javascript can't run in the first place, so there is no need to disable it. Also note that for said device your site couldn't function as SS sites are heavily dependent on Javascript.

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from bangank36 in Adding an image/gallery slideshow with animation like in the given sample
    Hello,
    On 7.1, adding a slideshow in the way that you are talking about and shown in the example above is not possible. The slideshow options are limited to specific pages instead of blocks unfortunately.
    However, 7.0 templates support these Gallery/Slideshow blocks.
    If you are using 7.1, you'll need to use custom code. You can build a slideshow using a Javascript library or it is also possible to build a simple slideshow using CSS.

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from ghostplugins in How make the navigation menu/bar stick at the top of the screen while scrolling
    Hello,
    If you're using a 7.1 Template. You can do this by navigating to any page, click "Edit", and select "Edit Site Header". The menu will allow you to change the toggle switch for "Fixed Header" on or off.
    If you're on version 7.0 using a compatible template family, you should be able to add the following code using the Custom CSS tool. Navigate from Home > Design > Custom CSS and paste the code below:
    // Fixed Header // .Header { position: fixed; z-index: 9999; width: 100%; } -- Courtesy of Ghost Plugins.

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from AnneC in Code for Copyright using Markdown
    Hello Anne,
    Could you give us a little more information on what exactly you need for the markdown code. Are you looking for a copyright symbol/icon to use? Are you trying to watermark specific content? Did you want to prevent users from interacting or saving your website content? Were you looking for a generic copyright disclaimer? It's a little vague in your wording but I assure you there are answers to each of the questions I asked, so just let me know! 🙂
    Regarding your footer logo problem, could you please share the URL to your website so we can take a look at the image in question.
    Thanks,

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from tuanphan in How to Make Codes Mobile Responsive
    Hello Megan,
    This happens at a certain width, or size of the screen because the layout shifts into a single column and orders everything vertically. Partly because shrinking the entire website to fit to size just isn't a standard function although, there are clearly certain circumstances where this would be the desired effect. In this case, I would encourage you to consider a couple of things. The text displayed for the icons via the image changer will no longer be legible and you will need to adjust the dimensions of the image between the top icon and the bottom two icons. To do this, try using the following code.
    The code:
    #collection-60abe9a635cf7e0257669806 { @media only screen and (max-width: 640px){ .sqs-row { display: flex; width: auto !important; } #block-yui_3_17_2_1_1623419223240_90583 { width: 90vw !important; } } } Hope this helps!

    Wolfsilon got a reaction from tuanphan in Add Colored Box Around Portfolio Links & Change Text Color
    Hello,
    Try this code and tweak some of the settings to your liking. Border radius is your rounded corners, Color is your text color, and by changing the Display to Inline-Block we're able to adjust the width of the box. Without using an absolute measurement like (px), we'll end up with different sized boxes.
    section[data-section-id="60ca314ce05af83b627d8fc9"]{ .portfolio-hover-item-content { display: inline-block !important; width: 300px; background: #000; border-radius: 15px; } .portfolio-hover[data-variant-hover-cover] .portfolio-hover-item-title { color: #fff !important; font-size: 2.5vmax; } } On mobile devices you might encounter some sizing issues. Testing these fixes are a bit tricky when overriding the default settings but this might help.
    @media only screen and (max-width:640px) { .portfolio-hover[data-variant-hover-cover] .portfolio-hover-item-title { font-size: 2.5vmax !important; } } Hope this helps!

    It's a little tricky to test but I think you'd be able to use the code below for each image. Just swap the ID for each of your sections on the page and insert the image url for the corresponding section ID.
    section[data-section-id="60c47f0723695f68078a9d17"] { @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) { .gallery-fullscreen-slideshow-item-img img { display: none; } .gallery-fullscreen-slideshow-item-img::before { content: ""; position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 100vh; background-image: url("YOUR_URL_IMAGE_HERE"); background-size: cover; background-position: center, center; background-repeat: no-repeat; z-index: 1; } } } Hope this helps,
