Issue with broken link for my LinkedIn profile on my 7.1 site

Recommended Posts

Hello,

For some reason I am getting "broken link" errors for my 3rd party linked in URL on my website. It is called a "999-Non Standard" (see attached for reference).

When I test the actual link on my website it still works (link located as a social icon in the site footer). And when I paste the URl into an incognito window, it works. I do not know why the link is showing up as "broken" if it is a real and working link. Does anyone have any insight or know how to fix it?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank,

Hey @BilO - thanks for posting this - happy to help.

I ran your homepage through SEOSpace and found some things to improve, but I couldn't see any broken links.

I've found from personal experience that building an accurate link checker is super difficult, so it might be the case that the one you used isn't incorrect.

As long as:

- The link works when you click it

- There isn't a "hidden" link that is actually broken

You'll be fine 👌

Hi @BilO. Screaming Frog is a reliable tool when checking for broken links. The 999 above does not indicate a broken link. LinkedIn is denying the request. Here's more info: https://http.dev/999
