RogueRoad Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Hey brains trust. After some thoughts and opinions from those who have done this (or just in general if you feel you have the knowledge). We are currently rebranding - new name, new domains, new everything. We want to switch everything over quickly when we announce our launch (ideally within 24 - 48 hours) - including our website. The website has been running for 8 years on squarespace - small investment in SEO and follows best practices. The website functions as an information centre (so gallery, about us, etc) - not a huge amount of 'regular traffic' as we are a service based business in a specific niche. Most comes from word of mouth and instagram - which then directs to the website where potential clients come for additional info or to complete a contact form. We have the drafts of the website pages ready as wireframes - however I am unsure the best approach - with the least amount of disruption/damage in terms of making it live. Do I rebuild the site again as a new project and then redirect urls/domain from the old site to the new one (which will have a new primary domain) Or do we build the content in the background on the old site and then use that 24/48 hours to make the styling changes and add the new domain name as primary? Or build the new site as a new project and export all the pages to be loaded to the old one? Notes - no commerce, nothing 'needed' from old site backend. Thanks so much in advance for your opinions.
