Open link in new tab toggle is not working (any idea when this issue will be fixed?)

I want links to external URLs on my blog to open in a new tab. I follow the instructions that Squarespace offers but it does not work. See screenshots below.

I can toggle the option on but as soon as I click outside the block editor the toggle goes back to being off. 

Any idea when this issue will be fixed? It's pretty vital that we are able to have links open in a new tab.

I've not experienced this error, can you report it to Squarespace Support:

support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new#choose-topic

Alternatively, you can try clearing your browser cache as that often fixes small (but important) issues like this:
