Google Font Icon - Flash of Unstyled Content

Hi,

I'm using Google Font Icons. I've added the stylesheet to my header code injection:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Material+Symbols+Outlined:opsz,wght,FILL,GRAD@20..48,100..700,0..1,-50..200" />

I've added them to my page via code block:

<span class="material-symbols-outlined">
mail
</span>

But on page load I get first the text "mail" and then the icon finishes loading. Is there anything else I can or should be doing or should I just use an image block instead? Thanks

Can you share link to icon on Google Font size or link to page where you added Code Block? We can check & test code easier
