Disable link to category/tag pages but keep them visible

Hi, I would like to keep my categories and tags visible but disable the link that takes you to the category/tag page that displays all of the blog posts in that specific category/tag.

My page isn't currently live. On my front page I have links to blog posts that are categorised and tagged, for example  ingredients(category) herbs and spices(tag)

I'd still like to keep them visible as it is informative, but not be able to click on them, I want to disable all links to any category/tag pages 

Can you add a site wide password so I can see the page?
