Adding Credit Card Information to Form on Website

We use a reservation form to collect information from potential tenants and are wanting to add a credit card field to accept their CC info to have on file for a deposit. What is the best way to go about this?

We like the layout of the current form and don't want to add a "shop" to the page as that will complicate the process.

The forms in Squarespace will not be able to do this. You would likely need to embed a form from a different service.Not to complicate things, but a lot depends on the rest of the process. For examples, what else is collected on the reservation form and what do you do with it? Does it have to be stored somewhere in particular? When you say "establish it is a valid credit card," do you mean validate the number against the CVV or validate that the account is in good standing and can be charged?
