Robots.txt file

I need to block some bots from visiting my website. On other CMS we can do this by adding code in robots.txt file. But we cannot do this in squarespace. Then how can we prevent some specific bot to visit our webiste?

Hover on pages on Pages > Main Navigation or Not Linked > You will see a gear icon appear on right of page name > Click on it > Click tab "SEO" > Then you can block bots here

This is extremely important to me and unfortunately in my interactions with the support chat, they seem woefully unaware of the issue. I kept being asked if I was concerned about my site map (?). Disallowing access to my content for GPTBot is a simple flag, as you point out, and yet being unable to edit Robots.txt forces all Squarespace customers to consent to the theft of their work. As a worker in the creative industries, I can't use a service that would so nakedly position itself against my interests. If this is not resolved, I will be moving.

+1 on this. I'm also a creator and would like to block GPTBot and future AI bots. Now that I know it can be fairly easily done, it would be great to have that option.

I came here for the exact same thing, and just want to join the choir. I think this is an important feature, and would definitely want to be able to block AI bots as soon as possible.

Same here. Direct access to robots.txt is now more important than ever.

How does one edit robot.txt files within Squarespace websites?

I am trying to "opt-OUT" from chat GTP from using our copyrighted website content. According to this link: https://platform.openai.com/docs/gptbot we can "disallow" the GTPbot to index our sites by adding a robot.txt:

User-agent: GPTBot
Disallow: /

Has anyone tried this? How do you add robot.txt files?

SS provides no means to edit the robots.txt file it is automatically maintained by SS.

I ditto the previous comments. Very keen to disallow access to my content from ChatGPT's Open AI as described. I'm a voiceover & voice artist. Please do correct this issue Squarespace.
