Hinden products

Can I hide products from the storefront only to use them in combined products for upselling and product-specific addons? 
And can I have a customer login to allow access to the add-ons? I imagine that a customer can op-in to become a registered customer when buying for the first time. 

My example is:

I sell a photo session and customers can select from several add-ons like paper prints or photo books. But only customers that order a session or already had a session can buy the add-ons.
