Header padding/spacing 7.1

Why is the grid so far under the site header making such a big space? I don't want all that space. I'm not a coder and got used to being able to adjust padding etc in 7.0 Would be really grateful for some help as I don't want to feel like Squarespace doesn't work for me any more!

No the website is private. Can you add a site wide password?

I don't know how to do that.

Sorry, that's why I shared the article with instructions.

I've just made it public, if that's what you meant?

Making it public works! Thanks!

I can't see an identical page to the example, but the homepage now has the section height set to M (medium) if you change that to S (small) then there will be less padding top and bottom.

If you go into the header settings, go to desktop, and change the vertical padding, it will reduce the size without adjusting the logo size.

Did Squarespace remove the vertical padding option? I dont see the global/desktop/mobile options when I edit my site header.

Settings have been tweaked, scroll down and look for "height" to control this.

@Ziggy I'm actually trying to change the padding on the left and right but only on the header. (I want the logo and navigation to come in a bit) but I still want the overall page to have images flush to the edges. I know I can change the whole site spacing but I'm looking to only add padding on the header left and right.

thanks!

I would like to add space on the left of the logo and the right of the word info.

You can use this code to Website Tools > Custom CSS.

div.header-announcement-bar-wrapper {
    padding-left: 1.2vw !important;
    padding-right: 1.2vw !important;
}

@tuanphan youre the best! if I apply to the footer as well is this the best code?

footer {
    padding-left: 1.2vw !important;
    padding-right: 1.2vw !important;
}

I think Footer should be

footer.sections .content {
	padding-left: 1.2vw !important;
	padding-right: 1.2vw !important;
}
