Hide the hero image of the store, when a category is selected Squarespace 7.1

on the website https://alligator-piano-nkl3.squarespace.com/, when you click the categories on the home page, the hero image and text Functional and artful ceramics handmade in Los Angeles still pop up is there a way to hide that so just the shop category chosen shows first?

the photo and text I want hidden when a category is selected  is in the screenshot below, i only want it hidden when a category is selected, as the shop is the homepage

We need to use javascript which is only available on business plan or above ones so we can define if the client select any categories or not
