Grey box on hover when navigating on mobile

Hi!

On the above site, when I navigate from any page on mobile, i.e this one https://www.history-ink.com/discoveryourstory and use  the logo to navigate to the home page, a grey box appears briefly behind, before displaying the home page. Do you know why this is and how to resolve?

Any thoughts on this? I have used a plugin for the slider.
