IoS Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Hi, I've been trying to figure out in Stripe how to pass on Stripe processing fees to cutomers, but can't seem to work it out as I don't have the "payment Services" option in Stripe. Is it possible that Squarespace has disabled this? Before using Squarespace, I did manange to pass on these fees to my customers? " Quote How can I pass Stripe processing fees on to customers (known as "surcharging" in Xero)? If you have chosen to use Stripe as a payment service, you can automatically add a processing fee to the payment total when your customer pays by credit card. You can do this by going to Settings > Payment Services and selecting the Charge my customer a processing fee option."
Solution paul2009 Posted February 16, 2022 Solution Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) When customers are paying 6 hours ago, IoS said: I've been trying to figure out in Stripe how to pass on Stripe processing fees to customers There isn’t a way to do this automatically for transactions through the Squarespace checkout. Code cannot be used to change this. You may want to consider manually increasing your online prices (in the Inventory panel) to offset the cost of Stripe costs. cjanderson Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I increase my priced by the percentage that Stripe charges for each sale. 4% should cover it. Also increase the mark up on shipping charges if you have items your selling. IoS 1
MillyBanks Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Is it possible to add this as a product and have it appear automatically in every checkout? Or alongside each product? I have tried adding a product within additional info to my main product but this doesn't get added to the checkout as I was hoping. Anyone ideas how I can make this work? in terms of the customer journey I actually display the products through an events calendar so do want a way this can work with this flow... melissafraterrigo Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Hi Milly, Did you discover if there is a way to add this fee as a product that would appear with every transaction? Thanks, Melissa
