My CTA buttons disappear if I have an image background in my footer?

The problem all started when I tried to make my header image fixed so the content below it scrolls over. 

Doing this hid my footer and covered it with the header image. 

I then found code to counteract this. 

But now my background on my footer is hiding the buttons!? 

When I go to edit the footer, I can see they are still there... 

Mobile view is also showing a white bar underneath which I don't want.
