template 7.1 Template

Hi all,

My site is currently using 7.0, and i want to switch to a template in 7.1.

Am i right in thinking, i need to build my site new in 7.1, subscribe then cancel my 7.0 site (losing all my analytics etc along the way)

That’s correct, there isn’t a migration or upgrade tool. 

Once you cancel your subscription to your old site, all analytics, sales, customer and profile information will be lost and cannot be migrated, however, you can take an archive of some of these things. You'll find a guide to the process here: Moving from Squarespace version 7.0 to version 7.1. 

Time to dig out all my archive drives and find all the pictures i need then. What a pain.

You should look for squarewebsites admin ui tweak extensions, it help migrate from 7 to 7.1 template

Then you can contact customer support to switch the subscription between 2 sites

Actually, it's not possible to transfer subscriptions from one site to another but when you're ready to switch, you can start a new subscription on the new site and cancel the old subscription. If you have time remaining on the old subscription (more than a month) you can then contact Customer Care to request a pro-rata refund. Note that this only applies to Circle Members.
