Inverted text colour on menu item when over images

Does anyone know how to apply a blend mode to text so that when it passes over images, etc, the colour inverts? I can't seem to get the 'blend-mode;difference' code to work.

Hi. You mean change about link color, depending on the section when the user scrolls the mouse?

I mean so that when you you scroll down the page, the word "About" takes on the inverse color selection of what is below the link. I've attached a photoshop image of what I mean.
