Hi there, we created an online store to encourage prospects to join our industry body, and we are interested in using the new Member Area to provide our existing and new members with access to restricted data. We need some help to understand can we achieve this with the squarespace member area product?

We are fledgling and have an existing 40 members, but need to give them access to the same restricted area that all new members will have - can we do this?

Also, we want to provide gated content like webinars to download for people to buy without becoming a member, is this done here or elsewhere?

appreciate your help

Heather

If you set a membership fee for the Member Area you can encourage prospects to join by linking to the Member Area ‘product’. Please note that no manual approval feature exists to allow new members to be approved before they can access content, so once they pay their fee, they’ll join. This may make Member Areas unsuitable if you require members to be approved before they gain access.

Existing members must create their own Member Areas account. If they have already paid, you could send them a discount code to allow them to join for little or no initial charge. Discounts can be applied to the first period, allowing them to be charged when future renewals are due.
