That could be a good solution. I'm just afraid if the image is too big it won't work. I was thinking you could somehow use an imbedded/linked youtube or vimeo video?

The gif is too big. To make 24 frames per second & big enough to not loose quality it was 74mb. Any other suggestions?

It will require custom script code for the video

You can replicate Portfolio Hover Background on a Blank Page, and use this approach (read second comment) to make video background appears when hovering on text
