Disappearing images in Markdown

I've seen dozens of posts about disappearing images, and haven't seen an actual solution for it.  I reached out to the support team for help. They said that they can replicate the issue, but since our images are in Markdown blocks, the issue is out of their scope and I should post here. Based off all the other posts here on disappearing images, I'm not convinced it's Markdown related.  The images are always fine for awhile, then just randomly disappear. Anyone possibly have any ideas? This has happened a few times now.

Hi. Can you share link to page where you added Markdown Block? We can check easier

For me, the cure has been to place the images using the conventional method, on an inactive, blank page. Then use the resulting URL(s) to code them into the markdown.

It seems like images used only in markdown are seen as unused over a certain timeframe and get purged from the library.
