  1. Site URL: https://www.nathancashion.com/bigfoot I'm using Bigfoot.js to create inline footnotes that pop-up instead of link to the bottom of the page. It's working great, the only problem is that the version of Markdown on Squarespace doesn't support the syntax for footnotes. The syntax is relatively simple and similar to links: To create a footnote reference, add a caret and an identifier inside brackets ([^1]). My current workflow is to write the post in Markdown using iA Writer. I then copy the document (or, at least, the section of the document with the footnote) as HTML and paste that into a code block on SquareSpace. This obviously isn't ideal or efficient – if I want to add an image to the post on Squarespace, for instance, I have to separate the code blocks since image blocks cannot be inserted inside a code block and the code block will not simply split at a line break like a text or Markdown block will. Is there any solution to enabling the footnote syntax within SquareSpace?
  2. I sell a very heavy and bulky product that is not very expensive. I lose a lot of sales due to the psychological effect of customer's rejecting the relatively high shipping cost (i.e. product cost $150 but shipping is an additional $90). I've learned that I can increase the cost of my product to $200 and reduce the shipping cost to $45 and make more sales. PROBLEM: Squarespace's "markup" doesn't allow anything but an increase in the shipping cost, not a reduction. I don't want to keep screwing around with my product dimensions and weights trying to "chase" the desired reduction. It doesn't work anyway due to the screwy way the carriers have to calculate their cost. I need a simple, behind-the-scenes "50%" reduction on the carrier's calculated rate. Has anyone found a workaround or solution?
  3. I have used markdown to add my on-demand class page to my website but the size is wrong. The on-demand classes are on recess.tv and i copied the iframe integration code but although it works only a tiny strip is visible on the page which means the viewer can't see the page properly - support can't help & said "I do see what you mean regarding your markdown block. It seems that the code you’ve added using the markdown block is not rendering in its expected size. Troubleshooting code falls outside our scope of support, so we can’t pinpoint the exact issue with the code." Anyone got any ideas?
  4. Hi guys! Could you please tell me how I can center align and change font color to red then all in bold letters? What should I add here: <span style="color:red"> **WORKSHOP 1:**</span> It would look something like this. Thank you!: WORKSHOP 1:
  5. Hey guys! I want to implement below code using markdown component, however struggling to make the button centered (screenshot attached). Any idea what CSS can fix this? <a href="https://app.squarespacescheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=27489484&appointmentType=39362980" target="_blank" class="acuity-embed-button" style="background: #ffdc00; color: #000; padding: 8px 12px; border: 0px; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -2px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15) inset;-moz-box-shadow: 0 -2px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15) inset;box-shadow: 0 -2px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15) inset;border-radius: 4px; text-decoration: none; display: inline-block;">Book now</a><link rel="stylesheet" href="https://embed.acuityscheduling.com/embed/button/27489484.css" id="acuity-button-styles" /><script src="https://embed.acuityscheduling.com/embed/button/27489484.js" async></script> Kind regards, Aga
  6. Hello, hoping somebody can help here. Working on a website for a dentist and want to display the opening hours aligned. Tried different codes or markdown blocks which kind of worked fine in the centre but for some reason not in the footer. All the weekdays should be aligned to the left and the hours to the right or at least have the same starting point and distance to the weekdays. At the moment it just looks a bit wonky.
  7. Hi all, I made my expandable FAQs list in markdown, but I would like the questions to be categorized (as you can see if you expand it all). Anyone knows what to put in markdown so the categories don't get hidden when not expanded? Thank you!! https://daffodil-goldfish-8xw8.squarespace.com/faqs pw: 120896
  8. Pretty new at this and have a markdown block in which I have a link. I want to change the color of the link and put the following in the block but it still remains the same color as the other text in the markdown block. Last 10 lines (approx) of this code. Any help? <div class="legend"><div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/62d6d806ef35aa522d1b1def/1658247174317/orange+terminal.png"> <p>Airport Info</p> </div> <div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/62d6d862ef35aa522d1b338b/1658247267090/car.png"> <p>Car(s)</p> </div> <div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/62d6d82076c98f741169cab1/1658247200023/fork-and-knife-png-3680.png"> <p>Restaurants</p> </div> <div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/62d6d89fc89e4a6a339263c4/1658247327829/hotel.png"> <p>Hotels</p> </div> <div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/62d6dd7cc28d2f5e8a436b6a/1658248572302/aqua+comments+icon.png"> <p>Comments</p> </div> <div class="item"> <img src="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/620beb509a658c7a242f355b/t/633a38fd2e30ef2923452068/1664760061694/TX+Main+Street+Icon+10.1.22.png"> <p>&nbsp;Certified Texas Main Street City <span style="text-decoration:underline;color:#E1DB5F;"> [Learn more][1]</span> </p> </div> </div> [1]: /texas-main-street-cities
  9. Site URL: https://edu.ifixit.com/fast-fix-project-faq#two I added anchor links to my accordion menu using the markdown block and some CSS and jQuery, but I would like the question to expand automatically when the anchor links are used. The rest of the page functions just how I would like—users that end up on the page organically can toggle through each question—but when I send a specific anchor link to a user, I'd like the question to automatically expand. I'd ideally like to find a way to do this that also doesn't mess with the spacing or the hover color. I'm using Squarespace 7.0 with the Bedford template.
  10. Greetings, I have lots of articles (more than 30) in Markdown (coming from another platform) I want to import into my Squarespace website. Is there a smart way (with less friction as possible) to import them? I don't want to manually copy/paste more so many articles. Thank you!
  11. Site URL: https://fox-chihuahua-df3j.squarespace.com/projects/tumblrmobile Hi, i'm trying to make a clickable expandable piece of text (like an accordion but not a +/- menu, more like a button that shows/hides text) I've used a markdown block to get the text show/hide feature, as shown: (hidden) (on click) However, I'd like the pink text to look more like (and act like) a button instead. Like this, where it also reacts on hover. Perhaps a markdown block isn't the best way to create a show/hide feature with a button, so if anyone knows how to make a button that shows/hides text that'd be really useful, thank you!
  12. Site URL: https://www.changeist.org/team Hi Squarespace community! I hope you all could help me with a formatting issue currently affecting our website. I updated two sections to the newer 7.1 version with the "upgrade" button, which has caused my markdown text to keep a large blank space that would otherwise be shrinked/hidden until a site visitor clicks the name of our staff member. How do I get rid of the large space so that I can have our staff bios reasonably organized? Thank you all in advance for your help in this matter!
  13. Site URL: https://www.opinionx.co/pricing2 I've built a pricing page using markdown blocks with custom code blocks. They work great on (1) large desktop screens and (2) vertical smartphone screens, but everything in-between causes a frustrating responsiveness issue -- the content becomes obscured as the blocks become skinnier and longer, until eventually they vertically stack. Any suggestions as to what I can do to prevent this issue in the middle of screen sizes (seems to be from 1362px width down to 767px where the distortion occurs and the cards don't get stacked vertically). Example screenshot: The page is https://opinionx.co/pricing2 and the password is just: 2
  14. Site URL: https://elizavolk-healingarts.squarespace.com/ Hello there, I am trying to find a way to fix this : I added several scheduling buttons in my website (with markdown). I changed the style directly in it and in the custom css too to have the desired design. But for some reason, it applies only when I am in the custom css page and as soon as I leave it and refresh the page, a pink-ish background appears in the buttons. I go back to the custom page, the effects come back. etc etc... It is driving me crazy, please help if you have any explanation ! 🙏🏻
  15. My drop down currently looks like this, but I only want the headers to be visible. What am I doing wrong? Here is the syntax: ## + 3/3rds Process & Learn to Follow Jesus Learn how to facilitate a Disciple Making Group meeting and become a faithful follower of Christ. <br> <center><span style=";background-color:#000000;border-radius:10px;padding-right:2em; padding-left:2em; padding-top:1em; padding-bottom:1em; font-size: 18px; color:white"><a href="/s/LTFJBookmark.pdf" target="_blank">Learn How</a> </span></center> ## + Vision Casting Check out our process for building teams of students who multiply disciples. <br> <center><span style=";background-color:#000000;border-radius:10px;padding-right:2em; padding-left:2em; padding-top:1em; padding-bottom:1em; font-size: 18px; color:white"><a href="/s/VisionCastingBookmark.pdf" target="_blank">Check it Out</a> </span></center> ## + 411 Training Learn how to start sharing your faith right away. <br> <center><span style=";background-color:#000000;border-radius:10px;padding-right:2em; padding-left:2em; padding-top:1em; padding-bottom:1em; font-size: 18px; color:white"><a href="/s/411TrainingBookmark.pdf" target="_blank">Train Now</a> </span></center> ## + Team Meeting Format Learn how to start a team at your school and facilitate team meetings. <br> <center><span style=";background-color:#000000;border-radius:10px;padding-right:2em; padding-left:2em; padding-top:1em; padding-bottom:1em; font-size: 18px; color:white"><a href="/s/TeamMeetingBookmark.pdf" target="_blank">Start a Team</a> </span></center>
  16. Wondering how I can make text appear to be small and float at the top kind of like an annotation. Pretty much exactly like this website is doing: http://www.peiliew.com/ Have been looking around but couldn't find anything. Thanks!
  17. Site URL: http://www.mattravenelle.com/wyth I am creating an expanding section but I cannot find any way to insert images into the expanded section as shown below. I tried to insert code using Markdown Monster to create embedded images but when I place them on my website they do not show up. Haven't found anything online to help me with this. Please help!
  18. Site URL: https://www.urbanvoguedayspa.com.au/trial Hi guys, I'm having issues making my accordion background color change when open, currently it's the opposite of what I want, the colour of the heading changes when clicked, I want the contents of the accordion to change color when clicked. I think I would need to change the script which I don't really know how to do, can someone help? Picture is an example of what I want it to look like Here's the script: <script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script><script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.markdown-block .sqs-block-content h3').addClass('ui-closed').css('cursor','pointer'); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h3").nextUntil("h3").slideToggle(); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h3").click(function() { $(this).nextUntil("h3").slideToggle(); $(this).toggleClass('ui-closed ui-open'); }); }); </script> Here's the css: //markdown block for treatments .markdown-block p { margin-left:1.5em; padding-right: 16px; } .markdown-block h3 { font-weight: 300 !important; } .markdown-block .ui-closed:before { content:"+ "; } .markdown-block .ui-open:before { content:"- "; } .markdown-block {padding:20px; margin: 0 auto; width: 100% !important; } .ui-open { background-color: #d2c8c2 !important;}
  19. Site URL: https://octahedron-plantain-7yf9.squarespace.com/ https://octahedron-plantain-7yf9.squarespace.com/ PW: omaha I'm trying to use custom bullets within a markdown block. The code works for bullets in a regular text block, but I can't seem to get the code to apply to the markdown block as well. /*Custom Bullets*/ ul[data-rte-list] li>*:first-child::before { content: "\007E"; font-weight: bolder; font-size: 1.4em; color: #BCECE4; }
  20. Site URL: https://nathancashion.com/blog/2018/5/the-4-causes-of-low-back-pain I've had an issue occur a few times now. If I edit a Markdown block while using the Squarespace app for iOS, the markdown gets changed. It appears that the block will add in backslashes before any markdown formatting syntax, e.g. ### Disc Likely the most common cause of back pain in our modern age, *degenerative disc disease* or *discogenic low back pain* is attributed to 40 percent of low back pain cases. will be converted to: ### Disc Likely the most common source of back pain in our modern age, \\\*degenerative disc disease\\\* or \\\*discogenic low back pain\\\* is attributed to 40 percent of low back pain cases. These added characters then show in the rendered page, and all paragraph breaks are removed. (See attached screenshot. I've fixed the live blog post, so you can see the correct formatting by visiting the link above.) If I try to fix it by editing on iOS, it only makes it worse. In fact, it will add backslashes to the backslashes. I can only correct the problem by editing on the web, completely replacing the text in the Markdown block.
  21. One of the pages of my website was previously created using markdown. I have NO IDEA how to use this. I was tasked with adding another bio to our bio page - the other bios have photos - I was able to make another bio box, copy and paste from other existing bio boxes and then modify information for the specific bio I am adding and that worked great! I've tried to copy and paste the image code and http links from the other bio markdowns and then modify for the image that I need, but it's not finding the image. Every time I reach out to SquareSpace, they say since there's custom code, they can't help me. Additionally, I need a pic on my main page to point to the bio that I'm trying to create but I don't know how to do that either. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. Site URL: https://cinnamon-arugula-lbx4.squarespace.com/hero-natural-beef-jerky-landing I have an * that's got superscript tags but it's placing the * too low and I can't figure out how to move the * up without dramatically increasing the font size. Is this possible to adjust the baseline for a single text character? pw: WNC3nek5ctr8eyr-tyf
  23. I'd like people to click this button and be able to download a PDF, but I can't figure it out. (I am not a coder.) Check out the screenshot of what I have right now (which doesn't work) and let me know how to do it please (besides removing the spaces from the PDF title - I will make that change)!
  24. Site URL: https://empowerops.com Hey guys, I'm looking to create a markdown file shared/modified/maintained by my non-squarespace-user teammates that will auto-magically get loaded by visitors to a page. My hope was that I could do a simple page with a markdown block, and then add some header-JS, such that visitors to a page would run some code to fetch the most recent version of the text, dump it into a markdown block, to be rendered by squarespace.js. Is this possible? It occurs to me that I'm assuming squarespace does runtime processing on markdown text, such that the flow is that squarespace ships the markdown as text to the client and then invokes some javascript to render it, but this could be completely wrong. Is it possible to expose a text file (ie a markdown file) via sharepoint, keeping a relatively sane permissions scheme? Further, the goal is this: I want non technical people to have an easy way to edit a relatively static text document, and to keep only a single authoritative document. Can I use some tool other than javascript-synchronization tricks? Maybe I should just ask my team to modify a text block on squarespace? Many Thanks, -Geoff
  25. Hello, I do not know if this question has been asked but I would like to add a background color to just a text box. I have text over an image and I would like to put a light gray or semi-transparent background under some text so it is easier to read. I have attached a image for what I am trying to achieve.
