  1. Hello! Website: www.shopmaisaguam.com How do I expand the content width for this area on my homepage I created with a markdown block?
  2. Is there a way to edit the size of an image that is embedded within a markdown block? Currently I'm trying to created a bulleted "to-do" checklist of many items to show which items have been completed and which are still outstanding. That said, I've successfully added the images to the markdown block by using the reference style code found on the current cheat sheet: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543587-Markdown-cheat-sheet Reference-style: ![alt text][id] [id]: /url/to/img.jpg "Title" However, the images are now significantly way too big for the text. Is there a way to scale down the image size within the markdown block code? Thanks in advance.
  3. I am trying to figure out how to correctly use this number reference format that squarespace uses for inserting links in markdown blocks. Below is the code that I have for the block. I'd like my custom button to link to the "eligibility" page. What I get now is a 400 error page. Thanks in advance for any help! <div style="background-color:#002447;color:#ffffff;padding:30px">The focus of Kaihatsu Mentoring is to find the best university options for the fencer. The student athlete will benefit from advice on university and tournament planning, analysis, and the insight gained from Kaihatsu’s over 35 years of fencing experience and 27 years of NCAA recruiting and coaching. <br> <p><a href=["/eligibility"][1] class="myButton">Learn more</a></p></div> [1]: /eligibility
  4. Site URL: https://www.boutique14.co.uk/custom-options I'm trying to put h1 tags around my page headings. The page headings ("Custom Options" in the example given) are created using markdown blocks, as I want a very specific font/style. I want to use h1 tags for obvious SEO reasons, but I don't want SquareSpace to format the text to the standard h1 settings. This is the markdown I have used: <div style="text-align:CENTER"><span style="font-family:Velocity; font-size:35px; line-height:1em; color:#88787F">Custom Options</span> When I add in h1 tags like this... <div style="text-align:CENTER"><span style="font-family:Velocity; font-size:35px; line-height:1em; color:#88787F"><h1>Custom Options</h1></span> ... the result is the standard h1 formatting. Before anyone suggests it, I don't want to tailor my h1 formatting in Site Styles to produce the desired effect, because I am using h1 tags elsewhere on the site in the format set by Site Styles, and I'm happy with it. I just want to be able to use a different markdown but keep the h1 tags. Can anyone suggest a way I can have h1 tags but in whatever markdown style I want? I did hit the "h1" button on the markdown options, this inserts double lines under the markdown like this: <div style="text-align:CENTER"><span style="font-family:Velocity; font-size:35px; line-height:1em; color:#88787F">Custom Options</span> ======================================================================================================================================= ...but when I inspect the markdown element on a browser I don't see h1 tags, so not sure if that works. Help please! Thank you.
  5. Site URL: https://mjrlandscape.squarespace.com/ @tuanphanI am working on a markdown block and I have a numbered list. If I use </br></br> after the numbered list the following paragraph is indented like the numbered list. If I use a regular return (return key) is adds a horizontal rule. What I am after is a regular return (return key) without the horizontal rule. Any ideas?
  6. I have a disturbing problem. When using markdowns with the code: <div style="text-align:center"><span style="font-family:AVAYX; font-size:1.8em; color:black">**SOME OF OUR LATEST PROJECTS**</span> The font appear on my computer, but when I visit my site on my iphone the font in the markdown is changed to another.. looks like times new roman or something similar, but not the font that I'm using in the markdown.. What is wrong? Why isn't the markdown show the correct font in responsive view?
  7. Site URL: https://projectaccess.org/curriculum-home Hi, I'm working on this Squarespace site but one Markdown is bugging out. Is anyone familiar with it and does anyone know how to fix this? See screenshot. Thank you so much already. Kind regard, Kjeld
  8. Site URL: https://goose-magnolia-r53a.squarespace.com/config/settings/site-visibility how do i add a hover colour for my markdown FAQ section? Also is there a way of centering these and maybe making font size smaller and padding smaller on mobile? password: Orlabean16
  9. I followed these steps https://poshsecurity.com/blog/powershell-syntax-highlighting-with-squarespace and within my blog it works ( while I'm in sqaurespace) See first attached pic. But when it is published it looks like normal code without the syntax highlighting.. I've tried a code block to call out powershell and I've used markdown like in the tutorial and both have the same result. Any ideas? ----update I notice when I hit refresh on the page it displays properly----
  10. Site URL: https://goose-magnolia-r53a.squarespace.com/config/settings/site-visibility hey how do i add a hover colour on my markdown text? Also how do i add a horizontal line after each question? When i insert one it seems to break the dropdown answer functionality password:Orlabean16
  11. I'm wondering if someone can help me to fix a padding issue. I have added a markdown box (with a H5 and H6). The text has a large gap between the headings and I'm wondering if there's any way to make the gap smaller? I've checked the Syntax cheat sheet but there's no help for this. https://khp-landing.squarespace.com/ The site password is 'pa33word' Thanks in advance :) Claire.
  12. Site URL: http://rachelthor.com/ Hi there, I've been following the squarespace forum for adding code that allows me to create drop-down menus where only the heading is visible until you click it, then it toggles open to a longer explanation (often used for FAQs). This successfully worked for me on the last page I created on my site. This time around however, I'm trying to use the same code and it's weirding out on me. Working the first time I load a preview and then staying forever open after that, or continuously bouncing between open and closed. I am wondering if I have the code doubled somewhere and it's confusing itself, or what suggestions you have for clearing house and starting over to get this working across my whole site?
  13. Site URL: http://www.mattravenelle.com/wyth I am creating an expanding section but I cannot find any way to insert images into the expanded section as shown below. I tried to insert code using Markdown Monster to create embedded images but when I place them on my website they do not show up. Haven't found anything online to help me with this. Please help!
  14. Site URL: http://www.scienceisWEIRD.com Hullo! I'm trying to put a shadow behind some of my headings (they're against an image, and they can be hard to see). Right now, I'm trying to do it with a Markdown box. I'm entering the following... <span style="text-shadow:2px 2px 3px #000;"> Next class starts April 27, 2020 • Open for all kids ages 9 – 12 • ADHD/2e students especially welcome </span> ...which works great — the shadow's perfect — but it automatically styles the text as Paragraph 2 (I'm pretty sure). I'd like it to be a heading. When I put <h2> in, as follows... <span style="text-shadow:2px 2px 3px #000;"> <h2> Next class starts April 27, 2020 • Open for all kids ages 9 – 12 • ADHD/2e students especially welcome </h2> </span> ...the shadow disappears. (The same thing happens with <h1>, <h3>, and <h4>. I'd also test this with paragraph 1, paragraph 2, etc. fonts, but I'm enough of a noob to not know how to do that.) Does anyone have a notion of how I can get heading text to have a shadow behind it? Much thanks in advance!
  15. Site URL: https://www.lulucheng.com/writing i added a markdown block so i could embed an email signup form for my Substack newsletter. this is the html code i received from Substack to do that: <iframe src="https://lulu.substack.com/embed" width="480" height="320" style="border:1px solid #EEE; background:white;" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> however, when i paste this code into the markdown block editor, it left aligns the signup form (white box below the 'sign up' button): how do i center the signup form on the page? i'm using the sofia template. thanks for any help or insight! p.s. i removed the markdown block from https://www.lulucheng.com/writing for now, but the screenshot i've attached shows the issue i'm describing.
  16. Site URL: https://www.adamharveyphotography.com/blog/markdown-issue Hey, I'm having an issue with a blog post that I'm looking to post where I have noticed that Markdown Blocks, Code Blocks, & Text blocks all have different default widths. Code block is easy to overcome as I can use ident to match text blocks, but my real issue is that Markdown is about half the width of Text/Code blocks & pinned to the centre. This issue isn't present for normal pages. The Template is Horizon, & appears on both my main site (developer mode enabled) & a second site (developer mode not enabled) both using the same template. The only injected code I have on the site is for Facebook messenger chat integration + a Java script for collapsible lists, which incidentally is the only reason I am needing to use Markdown block. Does anyone know of a way to change the width of markdown blocks Blogs posts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Adam
  17. Site URL: https://arena-2.squarespace.com/home/#offering Hello all 🙂 In a MARK DOWN BLOCK, I want to set text styling of select text as "small paragraph". So that this text will look like what ever design "small paragraph" to look like in Design/Font.... https://arena-2.squarespace.com/home/#offering Password for site: Arenasite In the Mark Down block text editor, I have the choice to set select text as H1, H2 or nothing? But maybe, there is a basic html code I can insert, that will style select text to be a certain (pre-set) paragraph? If, not, maybe I can insert html to define text styling to be same as small paragraph? (font, size, line height etc) and so forth. I need help for this, since I dont know how to code, but I know how to copy-paste :-). Here is the total code from one of the mark down blocks: > #### Learn more In collaboration with you, we use our analytical framework & data science models to turn human, social and business insights into business opportunities. Core focus areas for Strategic Projects include Business Direction & Strategy, Digital Strategy & Transformation, Product Development & Innovation. > Typical services include: * Redefining your business unit direction to uncover new growth potential. * Defining the optimal mix of products and services in your portfolio. * Building new planning processes that connect different business units across a company. * Developing a foundational perspective and value proposition regarding how to win in a new growth area. * Developing a concrete definition of the new growth area, making a big bet. * Defining your strategic portfolio management model and product strategy. * Developing a clear innovation intent: providing direction, identifying and prioritizing projects. The "#### Learn more" loads an image and accordian script. Its ALL the text below that line, that I would like to style/set as "small paragraph" Thanks!
  18. Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out why the markdown box I added isn't accepting a dropdown with H4 heading. Unfortunately, I'm finding it only works if I add a H1, H2, or H3 heading in the custom CSS Syntax. Thank you! Matt
  19. Hi I'm working on a website and have include a collapse / reveal text using markdown. Custom CSS code is: <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2').css('cursor','pointer'); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2").nextUntil("h2").slideToggle(); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2").click(function() {$(this).nextUntil("h2").slideToggle();}); }); </script> And this is the code in markdown: + Visible title -------------------------- Hidden text When i have a hyperlink in the hidden text, it automatically changes to the colour white. Do you know how I change to black? Thanks!
  20. Site URL: https://www.mickeysphotography.uk Hi, is it possible to have links that are in a markdown block open in new page? I select this option when creating the link but the link always opens on the same page. Thanks
  21. Hi there! Just wondering if anyone could help in regards to making a collapsible "click to reveal" type of text on this page for the text that isn't in bold font. Just to make the page less cluttered: http://www.malamoonphoto.com.au/pricing-packages/#sessions Thanks, I appreciate your time, Suz :)
  22. I use a Markdown Block to create a table showing whena particular class is being held. When the class is filled I switch the time column to CLOSED by moving HTML comments between two lines for that column. The Markdown code is shown in Image below. I switch between the actual time and CLOSED by moving the HTML comments (<!-- --> between the two code lines for the time column. This works fine. But for a new class I've entered, with a new time table, inserting an HTML comment around one line generates the "data-preserve" message shown in the image below. As far as I can tell the markup for the two tables is identical. Does anyone know what might be going on? Thanks
  23. Site URL: https://www.bfsbuilt.com I am trying to create an accordion (expandable section) to list vendors our business features, with each vendor listed linking to their website. Using this tutorial I have built the content out (https://www.itssevenone.com/tutorials-for-squarespace-71/accordion), but now I cannot get my links to open in a new tab. Each time I select this setting through the hyperlink options in Squarespace, it continually reverts back to opening links in the same tab.
  24. Site URL: http://landerfornyc.com I am trying to break up a long page with lots of text by creating sections that have a title, a summary paragraph, and then have users click to see more information if needed. I think the best way to do this is with an accordion FAQ-style using a markdown block. I'm having 2 problems with the formatting, need troubleshooting advice! 1) I want the page to display the title and the summary, and then have users click the "more" in the summary to get the additional bullet points. I can't figure out how to make the title and summary static, with only the bullet points hidden. Right now, it shows the first title and summary, but then only shows the summary for each section after that (the title shows up when you expand the section before it). Any advice? 2) Is there a simple way to put an image next to each section, tied to the placement of the title and summary (even when the section is expanded). Looking for tips on how to float the image on the right or left next to the text, but keep it aligned with the right section. The JQuery code i'm using is: <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2').css('cursor','help'); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2").nextUntil("h2").slideToggle(); $(".markdown-block .sqs-block-content h2").click(function() {$(this).nextUntil("h2").slideToggle();}); }); </script> And the format of the markdown is: ### Title ## Summary *bullets ### Title ## Summary *bullets ### Title ## Summary *bullets
  25. Site URL: http://russellrpc.org Hi, I'm wondering how to upload documents into an accordion style dropdown? I made the accordion using this: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5a75f5554c0dbffe87e1e379/t/5b3a5f5b352f5393c5a78b52/1530552155529/Kayleigh+Noele+FAQ+Dropdown+Accordion+Installation.pdf It works great, excepting adding documents. When click to add a link, change to a document and upload, all I get is what's in the attached screenshot. The Greeting Schedule is the name of the document. But it's not even clickable, let alone a file. How do I fix it? Thank you!
