photo captions

I am very much new and have little to no experience so forgive me if my question has an obvious answer.  I am looking to setup a photography website, I also like to add lengthy captions (more like short stories) to my images.  As I browse the templates and view them in different modes I do not see ANY captions and that begs the question: can I add captions/stories to my images?  Is it difficult?

You can indeed, especially if you use image blocks.

Click on the image and enter the caption in the text box that appears under the image. If it isn't there, go to Design in the Image Block editor and click 'Caption below'
