Search bar in header in 7.1

Hi everyone. 

Does anyone know if it's possible to add a search bar into your header using code? And if so, how to make it show just as a magnifying glass on mobile?

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to add more than one message onto your announcement bar again using code?

I've followed this site instructions, however I still couldn't make it into magnifying glass into header. It works tho!

As for announcement bar, I wish to find a solution too.

Thanks both for your help! I did manage to figure it out in the end but it took a while! I couldn't get the magnifying glass though either
