Is there a way to attribute a single blog post to two or more authors such that both authors appear at the bottom of the blog entry?

There isn't a built-in feature that can do this. However, it can be achieved with a combination of the following:

  • Create a second blog collection that can hold the author names (and thumbnails and bios if required)
  • Add author tags to each post in the [main] blog to indicate the author(s).
  • A summary block at the end of each post that can pull in the details of one or more authors and display them.
  • Some code to check the author tags and then filter the summary block to show only the relevant authors

Howdy.

I must follow up and ask if there has been any changes. I have a blog post and would like to add two basic authors at the bottom. If this isn't a feature I may ask why squarespace hasn't updated the site to create a drop down options to allow multiple authors to be added at the bottom of a blog post?

@cgaona

You can add a basic author in Settings > Permissions that is just the combination of the two authors. That's what I do on our site. For example, the display name is "John Smith and Jane Doe", first name is "John Smith and", last name "Jane Doe", etc. Also edit the profile of that author to have the two profiles of the authors if you'd like. On the blog, it shows up as "Written on <Today's Date> by John Smith and Jane Doe"
