Try to rebuild a multilingual site, having URL issues...

Hi all

I am trying to rebuild our website after our Wordpress site was hacked and destroyed 😕 .

The issue I am having in the Squarespace rebuild is making sure all the pages have the same url's as our original website (for google indexing, SEO).  Our main language is German and second language is English.

I have read and followed some good methods for this already, currently I have a working solution (thanks to https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template- recommend this code and coder!! ). But I am hoping to get lucky and find another solution to solve my URL issue.

On our wordpress site all the german pages did not have the '/de/' in the URL,  for example: German homepage: www.site.com , English homepage: www.site.com/en/

German programs page: www.site.com/programs  ,  English: programs page: www.site.com/en/programs

However on our Squarespace site, the multilingual code makes all the german pages have a: /de/  in the URL

My test site is: https://test-interactenglish.squarespace.com/  password:password

For comparison my wordpress site is www.interactenglish.de

Any suggestions more than appreciated!
