  1. Site URL: https://cinnamon-chameleon-6wa9.squarespace.com/ Hi, I can't find the right code for the header menu button, I want to translate the call-to-action button. I want it in English to be "Let's talk" and in Estonian version "Küsi pakkumine". My page: https://cinnamon-chameleon-6wa9.squarespace.com/
  2. Site URL: https://lychee-carnation-4cdg.squarespace.com/ Hi! I'm trying to create a multilingual website and everything is working except for the items on folder that are not showing up on mobile. I followed this tutorial: https://www.creationsbyfaria.com/blog/multilingual-site-squarespace Basically I've created every page I need for each language, and I'm using custom CSS on each page to hide the navigation items I don't want to show on a specific language. Everything is working perfectly fine on desktop, but on mobile, on the second and third language, the items on the folder I have are not showing up. I've attached a print of what my Pages look like. The first language is Portuguese, the second English, and the third French. The Products folder is the one I'm having trouble with on Mobile. Basically when I click the folder the options are not visible, but this only on the second and third language. On Portuguese they show up fine. This is the code I'm using on the English Pages to hide the Portuguese and the French ones: <style> #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(1) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(2) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(3) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(15) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(16) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(17) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(18) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(19) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(20) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(21) {display:none} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(1) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(2) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(3) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(15) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(16) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(17) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(18) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(19) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(20) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(21) {display:none}} What can I do to solve the problem of the folder items not showing on mobile? 4. Site URL: https://www.dr-nemo.si/home Our website is made in 3 languages, each language is a different folder and so it has its own dropdown menu. I would like to modify the dropdown menus so that the appropriate menu is always visible while you are within its folder (for instance when you're looking at the pages in the English folder the English menu is always fully (extended) visible for easier navigation). And secondly I'd like to transform the drop down menu so the subpages of the folder display side by side in the menu and not one below the other. Are either of these things possible? and if yes how could I achieve them?
  5. Site URL: https://www.patricialindner.com/ I used code to make my site multilingual. I would like to have two buttons to switch languages, english and german. I would like the buttons to be transparent with just a white outline and white text that says EN and DE. Can anyone help with this? I would like these buttons to be in line with the nav links if possible. site password is Patricia. Thanks!
  6. Site URL: https://www.patricialindner.com/ I created a multilingual site with this guide - https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template, how would I make the footer multilingual? Password for site is Patricia. Thanks!
  7. Hi I have a tour operator site with activities in mutliple, quite different, locations. When people log into the site I would like them to be able to choose which location they are interested, similar to how one might choose a language. A few more details: Ideally I would use as little coding as possible Some of the pages (eg. about, contact) will be the same regardless of the location you choose, but once you choose the location the top menu bar should display the different pages eg. Home, Events, Activities, About ... The customer should be able to switch between sites easily through a dropdown on the menubar I have had a look and found this: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205809778-Creating-a-multilingual-site-in-Squarespace (example multilingual site here: https://bedford-multilingual.squarespace.com/) The problem with this is that the menu bar will only ever display the names of the different locations, so it will be clumbersome to navigate. Another suggestion is to create multiple sites and have a cover page linking to both, which seems overkill as I would need to pay twice for a simple website. It would also be clumbersome as I think the user would need to go all the way back to home to switch to the other site. I can't think of an example for other tour operators, but the same principle work on the Intuit site (https://www.intuit.com/): you can select an Indian, American, or Canadian version of the site, which are all similar but tailored to different locations. If you want to change at any point there is country dropdown in the top right hand corner. Would love to know if such a thing is possible. Ideally without html but am open to suggestions. This is something I see a lot with online stores and is going to be really important to a lot of people managing international websites. Perhaps there is a plugin that would help? Though I have been unable to find one. Cheers
  8. Hey everyone. I am desperately trying to make my bilingual site. All pages have already been translated and are ready but I really fail to understand how to make a English / French navigation and linking it to the right pages. Right now I can only link one page to the langage button on the Homepage and thats all. I am trying to find a solution without coding as I know nothing of this. Please help me :') Thanks
  9. multilingual site created by duplicating the main site is it possible to view or publish the contents of the main site blog (news) on secondary sites? I am working on a multilingual site (4 languages). I've created duplicates of the main site for each language so that I can translate the main menu and footer as well. Is there a way to display the blog (news) of the main site on the other sites? So that the news can always be the same without having to individually update all the blogs of the different sites? Can you embed the blog code only (not the whole page) in a frame? how would it work on mobile? Do you know of other solutions? Unfortunately squarespace support has no solution. Thank you
  10. I only have links in my navigation as it's a onepager – how can i translate the menu so i see only one language in the menu?
  11. Hi Everyone, This is my first post on the SqS forum, so bare me if I posted this in the wrong section. My question is: Since SqS doesn't offer multilingual flag options for the header-section (I really hope they will release this soon as some countries have multilingual foreigns, like Luxembourg), I was wondering how to set up multilingual for different countries. My company will be focussing on Netherlands, Belgium Estonia, Luxembourg, UK. How can I make sure that a visitor from Luxembourg will get on the right multilingual site? Thank you for your time and have great day! Jeroen
  12. Site URL: https://oopsvegan.com/ Hi! I am wondering how can I add hreflang tags to my blog posts. I have a multilingual site with 2 languages (English and Spanish). Google seems to not differentiate the 2 languages because when i add the name of my website on Google, the search result give a mix of English and Spanish. View screenshot attached. Will adding a hreflang tag solve this, what else should I be looking at? Thanks so much Patricia
  13. There are several approaches to realize a multilingual site in Squarespace. All of the existing solutions have drawbacks. In the answer, you will find a solution for localization of squarespace sites without drawbacks. 1) Official Squarespace Solution Does not work on all templates. Structural limitation - you only have one navigation level left perlanguage. Language selector menu not very nice. 2) Using multiple squarespace sites with language subdomains You have to pay the Squarespace fee per language3) Using external localization services like localize.js oder bablic.com You have to pay for external services. There are additional resources that have to be downloaded Does SEO work well on these solutions? Did not investigate this. 4) Javascript based on CSS Selectors and page IDs Unflexible when adding pages, JS has to be adapted and grows
  14. Site URL: https://carnation-synthesizer-ka52.squarespace.com/ Hi guys, I need to create a multilingual solution. I have been looking at @tuanphan's workthroughs such as the 3 language one on the blog. What I need is a solution where I can have 6 languages - manually translated pages - 6 flags in the header or just above the header to switch between them. Is this possible? Thanks to anyone who can help! Been trying to work this out for ages. https://carnation-synthesizer-ka52.squarespace.com/ is the site link. Kane
  15. Site URL: https://www.gregorykoefer.com/de/home Hey guys, I've followed the tutorial of https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template and replaced everything of /es/ with my own slugs (en) It seems to work except, that when I visit the german website, the menu isn't showing. IN the backend everytime I click on the de/home site, the menu loads quickly and dissapears immediately.. Here is my current code I've injected in the footer: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/flag-icon-css/2.6.0/css/flag-icon.css"> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.4.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(function() { /* SETUP MULTI-LANGUAGE */ var defaultLanguage = 'en'; var lang = location.pathname.split("/")[1]; var defaultClass = 'lang-'+defaultLanguage+''; var itemParent = "nav [class*='collection'],nav [class*='folder'],nav [class*='index'],nav [class*='group']"; if (lang == "" || lang.length > 2 ){ var lang = defaultLanguage; } /* ADD LANGUAGE CLASSES */ $('a[href="/"]').addClass('lang-'+defaultLanguage+'').parents(itemParent).addClass('lang-'+defaultLanguage+''); $('nav a:link:not([href^="http://"]):not([href^="https://"])').each(function () { var langType = $(this).attr('href').split("/")[1]; var multiLanguageClass = 'multilanguage lang-' + langType + ''; if (undefined !== langType && langType.length <= 2) $(this).addClass(multiLanguageClass).parents(itemParent).addClass(multiLanguageClass); }); $('nav button').each(function () { var langTypeFolder = $(this).attr('data-controller-folder-toggle').split("/")[0]; var multiLanguageClass = 'multilanguage lang-' + langTypeFolder + ''; if (undefined !== langTypeFolder && langTypeFolder.length <= 2) $(this).addClass(multiLanguageClass); }); /* HOMEPAGE-LOGO LINKS TO PROPER LANGUAGE HOMEPAGE */ if (lang == "de") { $('a[href="/"]').attr("href", "/de/main/"); } /* ADD EXCLUSION NAV ITEMS */ $('.exclude-me,.exclude-me a').addClass('exclude'); $('.sqs-svg-icon--list a,.SocialLinks-link').addClass('exclude'); /* REMOVE OTHER LANGUAGES AND KEEP EXCLUDED ITEMS */ $('.multilanguage:not(".lang-'+lang+',.exclude")').remove(); }); </script> When I remove the this part /* REMOVE OTHER LANGUAGES AND KEEP EXCLUDED ITEMS */ it shows me the english menu, so something is happening, but I can't figure out why it isn't showing the german menues..
  16. Site URL: https://coreplast-2.squarespace.com/ Hi, I used the code for multilingual site (version 7.1) from bradgood.net, but unfortunately the navigation shows both language navigation links (english and finnish) in a blink of an eye, when changing the language. I don't want to present this to my client, so does anybody know how to fix this problem? https://coreplast-2.squarespace.com/ Password: coreplast Thank You! /Heli
  17. Site URL: https://www.skill-up.nu/ Hi! 1- We have created a website that has Dutch as the main language and English as a second language. We would like to make it possible for people on the dutch pages to be directed to the contact form in dutch when pressing the “contact” button on the header and vice versa for the English page. Could someone please help us achieve that? I have tried using previously shared codes however, I always get a syntax error :( 2- On the Dutch version of our contact form, under the name space I can’t alter the text “First name” and “Last name”, I would like this to be in Dutch. Does someone know a solution? 3- I used this code to resize my logos on the “home” page and wanted to use it again for the images on the “about us'' page. But that doesn’t work, how can I use the same code twice? I want to resize the image only on the mobile version of the website, where they are too small. @media only screen and (max-width:640px){.sqs-block-image{width:40%;margin: auto}} Any help or suggestions will be very appreciated!
  18. Hello people, Do you have examples or tips on how to create a multilingual website in Squarespace 7.1? Thanks a lot! Marinske.
  19. I'm trying to set multilingual site on SS 7.1. For some reason if I set pages like: page /de/page I can't set /de/ as slug for German homepage. Is there a workaround for this? Or can I only set something like /de/startseite?
  20. Site URL: https://burgundy-orange-xekc.squarespace.com/ Hello! I'm setting up a website with five language options. Till now I was able to set up a second nav as language selector an i'm using the following code to hide sites from other languages #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} NOW the problem is, that the elements in the second nav and the first five elements in the main nav are counted the same. So if I want to hide nth-child(5) it hides the fifth site in the main nav AND the fifth language link in the second nav. But I want the fifth link in the second nav to stay visible. Hope it's kinda clear… Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!! pw: incler
  21. Hello, I've built this website in one language and duplicated every page to a 2nd language. However, to keep it simple, the shop page is the same for both languages to avoid creating 2 different inventory for the same product. Unfortunately this is not working because when someone choose to use the English menu (secondary) > goes to Shop > and return to the menu, the menu is back to Portuguese. This happens because in the secondary (English) menu, the shop link is just an hyperlink to the Shop in Portuguese (primary). * See bellow how my both language menus are divided Trying to find a solution to avoid this back and forth between languages, I thought that maybe I can duplicate my shop and products, and in one language hide the 'add to cart' button and switch to another 'add to cart button' that adds to the same product on the different language. That way I have two 2 shops pages in both languages and only one inventory. I would be very thankful if someone could help with that, or maybe another easier solution to solve this problem? 🙂 this is the link to the website: www.anamoura.pt Thank you so much!!
  22. Site URL: https://www.greencondom.club/ Hey peeps, This is not a question per se, more like sharing a solution I found. I needed to make my website multilingual and multi-currency a while back. I really struggled to find solutions meeting my requirements, so I came up with a solution: Use Weglot for the translation (no page duplicate, can translate the checkout) Duplicate the shop section of my Squarespace site for the 2nd currency (and pay Commerce again) Set up Geotargetly to redirect people according to their location Use Datafeedwatch to list our products on Google Shopping and Facebook Catalog I wrote a detailed guide on how I've done it. Hopefully, it helps someone. Cheers
  23. Site URL: https://rcaarc2021.squarespace.com/ Hi there, I am creating a multilingual site (English, French) and have read that having 2 different footers is possible using CSS and maybe Javascript to hide Lang 1 when user is on Lang 2. I am using Brine and on 7.0. Can someone help me out here? Site pw rcaarc2021 Thank you!
  24. Site URL: https://walrus-seal-em36.squarespace.com/ Hello all, TIA for your help. Currently the above website is created in two languages with the navigation allowing you to toggle in french and english through the following code that i learned from this website: https://www.creationsbyfaria.com/blog/multilingual-site-squarespace the following or similar code is applied at the page level: <style> #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none} </style> However currently this code is not applied to mobile navigations as you can see here, both french and english versions of the pages are showing. Is anyone aware of how I can append this code so it applies to mobile?
