  1. Hi there, How are you? Does anyone know how to make this webpage multi language? My entire Squarespace website is French Spanish and English, only "Checkout" page left. It's Urgent, we are ready to launch. Who can help me. I can read a code, but not That hard one ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank U
  2. Hey everyone! I needed some help! I am currently trying to create a website in 2 different languages so I decided to do my research and read an article on Squarespace on how to make one. I did not think it was that professional so I contacted the customer support and asked if there is another way to make a bilingual website and they sadly said I had to know coding. My current website is https://www.mediaqmarketing.com/ and as soon as you come to the page you get the option to click two buttons. One which gives you access to the English version and the other which gives you access to the Swedish version. What I want to do is as soon as someone clicks on, lets say, the Swedish button, the whole website should be in Swedish. That means that all the english pages I have created should somehow automatically end up in the not linked section of the website. Hopefully you guys understand what I am trying to say. To clarify a bit I found an example of what I am trying to do over here: www.dralessiomocci.com I was wondering if there is anyone who has a quick solution. All help is appreciated! Thank you everyone!
  3. Hello Everyone, i managed to add different primary pages for 4 different languages on my website, but the headers on all pages have disappeared. I'm using sonny template, and i followed a tutorial for five template which explained how to hide the deader in the deader.region file, which is something that i don't have and the site.region doesn't contain any code for the header. is there an alternative way to recreaty maybe links on the secondary page, which appears an all page, and hid successively all the not related link on the language page? (for example 4 links home, 4 about, 1 fo each language, and then hide the 3 not necessary) thank you a lot for your answer
  4. After adding a custom menu with multiple language options, for which it is important to add the language es / en / fr / de at the beginning of a URL. It doesn't seem to function completely, except for the English version. When navigating through the main navigation for Spanish/French/German website it seems to work: http://www.dametulengua.org/es/school, until entering into a blog post such as this one http://www.dametulengua.org/escuela-2/es/tallerconversacional. The top navigation titles suddenly changes to English (I have no idea why it changes to English out of all four languages). How can I edit this? Does it have to do with the page being a blog post of which I can't edit a custom URL? Moreover, I can't seem to hide the menu in the top black part, due to custom code, is there a way to hide this? This is because we get more mobile users, but the custom menu doesn't work for them so I manually added navigation in red text on all pages, to make it work on mobile. However on the desktop version, this leads to both the menu in the black header and the red added text menu showing up. Thank you in advance.
  5. Hello, I hope I am writing under the right topic. My company is about to publish our new website. We would like for it to automatically recognize the language of the visitor and switch to that one. How can I do that? Thanks for the help, Tena! :)
  6. Hi all, to make this short as possible and clear enough this is my problem: Im using Marquee template for years now and it is multilingual hiding navigation Menu in different language using nth-child and it is working like a charm for years but to make this css code to work I had to disable Mobile Styles in Template Settings. Now I'm working on migration to Brine template and after a two weeks of hard work I have found that Brine is not supporting this feature and I need it desperately because I don't know other solution. Can this be done with CSS just to force desktop Menu on Mobile as well because nth-child code works only for desktop navigation menu??? THANKS IN ADVANCE...
  7. Hello, My website is multilingual, German and English. I have two variants of every page of my website. On summaries, is there any way to translate the "Read More" link using css. I know how to target the the link to change colours or text, but is it possible to have my website show "Read More" on my English site and "Weiterlesen" on my German site? Greetings from Hamburg, Max
  8. Hello, I am using Horizon. I am creating a multilingual website and I want my Cover Page to link to one of the 2 Index Pages (one for each language). I've noticed that if I set the Cover Page as the homepage I can't see the pages in the navigation. Is it the intended behaviour? any workaround to this? Thanks in advance for any help!
  9. Hi all, I've got a fairly simple, bilingual site set up in ver. 7.1 using two navigation folders, one for each language. I've set the URL slugs to "/eng" (for English) and "/ita" (for Italian). I've also got blogs in each of these folders. Now, I had assumed that the folder's "URL slug" would be added to the complete URL (e.g. ".../eng/blog/article.html" or ".../eng/about.html"), but that doesn't appear to be the case. At least not by default. Is there a way to add this bit to the actual URL in order to separate the files for each language? For now, I've given the Italian blog the URL slug "/blog-it" to distinguish it from the English-language blog (which is just "blog" for now). It seems counterintuitive to me that the URL slug for blogs gets added to the actual URL, but the folder URL slug doesn't. TIA,Grey
  10. Hey there :) Anyone has some knowledge about Wix vs. Squarespace when it comes to translating the checkout page? Does Wix support a multilingual checkout beyond the 6 biggest languages? I would like my checkout page to be in Norwegian. Greetings :)
  11. I have built a dual language site in accordance with recommended design by squarespace (using a cover page as home page, and each language has its own folder of pages, duplicated and translated). I can workaround every squarespace limitation except the contact form. On the Portuguese contact page, under the Name fields is "first name" and "last name" and I am told it would require custom CSS code. I did find an answer for this, but it would change BOTH contact page forms into whatever I chose, and I need one to remain English. Anyone know how to change these fields, just for that one contact page form?
  12. There are several approaches to realize a multilingual site in Squarespace. All of the existing solutions have drawbacks. In the answer, you will find a solution for localization of squarespace sites without drawbacks. 1) Official Squarespace Solution Does not work on all templates. Structural limitation - you only have one navigation level left perlanguage. Language selector menu not very nice. 2) Using multiple squarespace sites with language subdomains You have to pay the Squarespace fee per language3) Using external localization services like localize.js oder bablic.com You have to pay for external services. There are additional resources that have to be downloaded Does SEO work well on these solutions? Did not investigate this. 4) Javascript based on CSS Selectors and page IDs Unflexible when adding pages, JS has to be adapted and grows
  13. Update: I posted a new tutorial on hiding links in navbar here, in case you are interested I see that a lot of people have the same kind of problem and the root of it is that there isn't any effective way to have a bilingual SS6 site. So if you want to make a bilingual site what are your options? the Google Translator, which is no option for me this method by SS, no an option either After a lot of research and brainstorming I came up with the conclusion that you can: Create a blog/page in your primary language of choice (X- for me that's GREEK VERSION) Duplicate each page/blog(for blogs must be done manually), modify its language (to Y- eg ENGLISH VERSION) and move them to the unlinked pages section, so their links won't be in the nav-bar In "Top Navigation" add the pages' links that you want to appear in the navigation bar eg About page, Contact etc in both languages Then with a simple CSS code you can hide the X language's pages from the Y language's blog and vice versa. So your in your English blog will appear only English pages, info in the nav bar, in Greek only Greek etc. You got it! You can put on your sidebar 2 flags or something like this and you can switch between your X-Y language blogs/pages So, all you need is that damn code. So, the code is below and it's the kind answer by: @rwilson and is given here !
  14. I want the language of the navigation and footer to match the language that is viewed on the site. For more information, please see my website at www.karaslegalservices.com.
  15. I don't like cover pages as means of selecting a language in a multi-lingual page. I'd rather prefer to have users choose the language in the main navigation (e.g. "EN/DE" for English or German). Does Squarespace offer such a solution? Thanks! Tobias (from Switzerland)
  16. I'm trying to create a cover page for my website so that I can offer access to both a french version and an english version. However Squarespace version 7.1 doesn't seem to have the option for a cover page. How do I create a cover page without the header and footer which simply has an image with buttons to english and french in which people can choose which version they access. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me find the answer. I've been looking everywhere and can't find the answer!

  18. Hi everyone,I am currently using the Henson template and i'm trying to make a multilingual site (I know the Henson template is not recommended for this but I don't want to change my template)Right now, my homepage is set to be the page where you select your language: DYLM. 20. I want my website to be bilingual, in French and English. I am currently using the Devlin template. What are my options to make make this bilingual? I am aware that there is a Google translator option but I cannot see what the end result will be like. I canโ€™t find examples. I can translate all my pages on my own but I need a button in the navigation bar that allows me to switch between both English and French on every page. Is this possible to add within a template? Thanks in advance for your help.
