  1. Hi, I use weglot to translate my site into 4 languages. I bought the package that translates the site, but does not translate the URL's. For that a need a more expensive package. Is there a way to change the URL's, especially the blogs? Thanks so much for your insights and help. Hugo
  2. Hey everybody, I looked through the threads on this topic and found several blog posts how to make it happen. However I am not familiar with internet language and am wondering if there is somebody who would like to go through the process with me?? Squarespace support only offers using Weglot which I tried and don't like (it is not very SEO friendly I think) and having the drop-down menu for the 3 languages I want to offer is not user friendly plus it looks very unprofessional. SOS help thank you
  3. Hello there My clients website (https://www.allium-floristik.it/) is translated via Weglot and unfortunately we exceeded the limit of 2000 words. I now excluded some pages from the translation to be under the 2000 Words. Unfortunately, the translation is still not working. Is it not possible to go back to the free plan? When I count my words on a "webpage word counter" it does not show me that I already reached the 2000 words. Could there be a bug? Thank you and best regards Sibylle Huber
  4. Site URL: https://www.kazi-funding.org/ Hi guys! I have a broblem with mobile version of my web-site The navigation links are mixed with both languages that I have (but for web version everything is fine) Can someone help me to fix it please?
  5. Site URL: https://studiodikini.com/ I would like to simplify the WEGLOT switcher design. Somebody can help? - No dropdown menu; - A single button switching English to French and vice versa. - French page button: EN / English page button: FR - Button would be integrated in the pull-back menu (top-right) on desktop and down-left on mobile)
  6. Site URL: https://lychee-carnation-4cdg.squarespace.com/ Hi! I'm trying to create a multilingual website and everything is working except for the items on folder that are not showing up on mobile. I followed this tutorial: https://www.creationsbyfaria.com/blog/multilingual-site-squarespace Basically I've created every page I need for each language, and I'm using custom CSS on each page to hide the navigation items I don't want to show on a specific language. Everything is working perfectly fine on desktop, but on mobile, on the second and third language, the items on the folder I have are not showing up. I've attached a print of what my Pages look like. The first language is Portuguese, the second English, and the third French. The Products folder is the one I'm having trouble with on Mobile. Basically when I click the folder the options are not visible, but this only on the second and third language. On Portuguese they show up fine. This is the code I'm using on the English Pages to hide the Portuguese and the French ones: <style> #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(1) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(2) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(3) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(15) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(16) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(17) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(18) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(19) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(20) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(21) {display:none} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(1) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(2) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(3) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(15) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(16) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(17) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(18) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(19) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(20) {display:none}} @media screen and (max-width:767px){#header .header-menu-nav-item:nth-child(21) {display:none}} What can I do to solve the problem of the folder items not showing on mobile? Thanks a lot! Error Folder Menu.mp4

  8. Hello, A quick intro - I am building a bilingual website in English and Japanese. The problem I am currently facing is that the right font size in English looks gigantic when converted into Japanese letters. SQS support person suggested searching for Japanese fonts supported by Google in Squarespace fonts but it appears that there is none... Is there any way to get around this? I am a beginner at building a website and am looking for a simple solution to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance. Chiara
  9. Site URL: https://burgundy-orange-xekc.squarespace.com/ Hello! I'm setting up a website with five language options. Till now I was able to set up a second nav as language selector an i'm using the following code to hide sites from other languages #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} NOW the problem is, that the elements in the second nav and the first five elements in the main nav are counted the same. So if I want to hide nth-child(5) it hides the fifth site in the main nav AND the fifth language link in the second nav. But I want the fifth link in the second nav to stay visible. Hope it's kinda clear… Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!! pw: incler
  10. Site URL: https://isere-ski-rando.com Hi, I have a website built in french and I want to add english support. Following available tutorials for me do not work as I use folders. I.e at the root of the website I have few pages and two folders. These folders are used to organised the navigation : Something like the following. /accueil /actualités activitiés/activité1 activitiés/activité2 The tutorial I am trying to follow also use folders so my site should become /cover-page /fr/accueil /fr/actualités /fr/activitiés/activité1 /fr/activitiés/activité2 /eng/home /eng/news /eng/activities/activity1 /eng/activities/activity2 The issue I am facing is that I cannot add a sub-folder to a folder. The ui only let me add pages Any help on this will be welcome. regards E Jannetti
  11. Hi Everyone, This is my first post on the SqS forum, so bare me if I posted this in the wrong section. My question is: Since SqS doesn't offer multilingual flag options for the header-section (I really hope they will release this soon as some countries have multilingual foreigns, like Luxembourg), I was wondering how to set up multilingual for different countries. My company will be focussing on Netherlands, Belgium Estonia, Luxembourg, UK. How can I make sure that a visitor from Luxembourg will get on the right multilingual site? Thank you for your time and have great day! Jeroen
  12. Hello, I am trying to set up a 2 language site where the header menu is only in one language and I am aware of all the custom guides floating around here. But my question is simpler: Can someone explain the following quote from Squarespace's official support document? This is exactly what I am trying to do without any custom code, but I have a hard time understanding it: If you only want one language's navigation links to display at a time, there are a couple options: Add all your pages to the Not Linked section, then use content links on each page to create a navigation. source: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205809778-Creating-a-multilingual-site-in-Squarespace Thank you Michael
  13. Site URL: https://walrus-seal-em36.squarespace.com/ Hello all, TIA for your help. Currently the above website is created in two languages with the navigation allowing you to toggle in french and english through the following code that i learned from this website: https://www.creationsbyfaria.com/blog/multilingual-site-squarespace the following or similar code is applied at the page level: <style> #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(4) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(5) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(6) {display:none} #header .header-nav-item:nth-child(7) {display:none} </style> However currently this code is not applied to mobile navigations as you can see here, both french and english versions of the pages are showing. Is anyone aware of how I can append this code so it applies to mobile?
  14. Site URL: https://coreplast-2.squarespace.com/ Hi, I used the code for multilingual site (version 7.1) from bradgood.net, but unfortunately the navigation shows both language navigation links (english and finnish) in a blink of an eye, when changing the language. I don't want to present this to my client, so does anybody know how to fix this problem? https://coreplast-2.squarespace.com/ Password: coreplast Thank You! /Heli
  15. Site URL: https://rcaarc2021.squarespace.com/ Hi there, I am creating a multilingual site (English, French) and have read that having 2 different footers is possible using CSS and maybe Javascript to hide Lang 1 when user is on Lang 2. I am using Brine and on 7.0. Can someone help me out here? Site pw rcaarc2021 Thank you!
  16. Hello people, Do you have examples or tips on how to create a multilingual website in Squarespace 7.1? Thanks a lot! Marinske.
  17. Site URL: https://www.greencondom.club/ Hey peeps, This is not a question per se, more like sharing a solution I found. I needed to make my website multilingual and multi-currency a while back. I really struggled to find solutions meeting my requirements, so I came up with a solution: Use Weglot for the translation (no page duplicate, can translate the checkout) Duplicate the shop section of my Squarespace site for the 2nd currency (and pay Commerce again) Set up Geotargetly to redirect people according to their location Use Datafeedwatch to list our products on Google Shopping and Facebook Catalog I wrote a detailed guide on how I've done it. Hopefully, it helps someone. Cheers
  18. My company's website was made using version 7.0, now I'm trying to create a new one using 7.1, but honestly I find it even more frustrating than 7.0, so please if anyone could help me it would be really appreciated: How can I create an Intro Page on version 7.1? that was something very easy with 7.0, but not with 7.1. Since my website is bilingual it would be nice to have a landing page where the user can choose between English or French. Right now, the Header with menu is always appearing, which makes impossible to have a page like this: https://www.mannanova.com/ The second problem: bilingual website. That's an issue Squarespace never offered a good solution. How can I have pages in one language without showing the other language on the header menu, just one language? And how to create switcher buttons to switch languages? I tried following this article https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template but for some reason I can't get it right... Thank you in advance. Any help is welcome, I'm almost giving up and going to another website creator.
  19. Hi all. I'm trying to add various languages to my site, I think I've followed the instructions and duplicated the various pages and hidden them in the non-linked bit. I've confused my immensely now and can't figure how to change the English menu titles in the header to correspond to the other languages. Is there anyway to this without going down the coding route? Thank you!
  20. Bonjour/Hello I am looking for examples of Canadian, multilingual e-commerce sites made with Squarespace. If you have one, would you be so kind as to tell me what template you used and post a link to the website? Merci/Thank you
  21. Site URL: https://lifelab.world/en/home Hi all! May I please ask for help regarding translating the calendar dates and months? I followed bradgood tutorial in creating a multilingual website. I am on a SS7.0 business plan using Brine- Impact template. I have been searching some solutions here, however I am stuck. 😞 Thank you kind people of Squarespace. 🙏
  22. Site URL: http://theconcilio.org Hi all, I've inherited a bilingual Squarespace site and recently the nav menu started displaying in both languages (English and Spanish) on secondary pages (but not on the English or Spanish home page). Please see attached screenshot. How can I fix this so that the English navigation menu items appear only on the English side and vice versa for the Spanish? The site was built in Squarespace 7.0 using the Brine family template. For the multilingual functionality, the site uses the code from Brad Good's excellent tutorial. I know it has something to do with the nav not excluding things correctly, but I've checked all the URLs and all use the /en/ or /es/ prefix. So, I'm not sure what has happened. Please see code below from the code injection. Thanks in advance for your help. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/flag-icon-css/2.6.0/css/flag-icon.css"> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.4.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(function() { /* SETUP MULTI-LANGUAGE */ var defaultLanguage = 'en'; var lang = location.pathname.split("/")[1]; var defaultClass = 'lang-'+defaultLanguage+''; var itemParent = "nav [class*='collection'],nav [class*='folder'],nav [class*='index'],nav [class*='group']"; if (lang == "" || lang.length > 2 ){ var lang = defaultLanguage; } /* ADD LANGUAGE CLASSES */ $('a[href="/"]').addClass('lang-'+defaultLanguage+'').parents(itemParent).addClass('lang-'+defaultLanguage+''); $('nav a:link:not([href^="http://"]):not([href^="https://"])').each(function () { var langType = $(this).attr('href').split("/")[1]; var multiLanguageClass = 'multilanguage lang-' + langType + ''; if (undefined !== langType && langType.length <= 2) $(this).addClass(multiLanguageClass).parents(itemParent).addClass(multiLanguageClass); }); $('nav button').each(function () { var langTypeFolder = $(this).attr('data-controller-folder-toggle').split("/")[0]; var multiLanguageClass = 'multilanguage lang-' + langTypeFolder + ''; if (undefined !== langTypeFolder && langTypeFolder.length <= 2) $(this).addClass(multiLanguageClass); }); /* HOMEPAGE-LOGO LINKS TO PROPER LANGUAGE HOMEPAGE */ if (lang == "es") { $('a[href="/"]').attr("href", "/es/inicio/"); } /* ADD EXCLUSION NAV ITEMS */ $('.exclude-me,.exclude-me a').addClass('exclude'); $('.sqs-svg-icon--list a,.SocialLinks-link').addClass('exclude'); /* REMOVE OTHER LANGUAGES AND KEEP EXCLUDED ITEMS */ $('.multilanguage:not(".lang-'+lang+',.exclude")').remove(); /* SETUP LANGUAGE SWITCHER */ $('body').prepend('<div class="language"><a href="/en/home" class="lang-en"><span class="flag-icon flag-icon-us"></span></a> <a href="/es/inicio/" class="lang-es"><span class="flag-icon flag-icon-mx"></span></a></div>'); }); </script>
  23. Hello, I want to build a multilingual website, I'm thinking of paying for 2 separate websites and I want to configure them under 2 subdomains as follows: en.website.com (Main site, default language) fr.website.com (Copy of the main site, secondary language) My idea is to finalize the full English version under en.website.com, then go duplicate the full site in one click, then go configure it and translate it into French under fr.website.com. Here are my questions: 1 - Is it possible to configure the main domain website.com to the main site en.website.com? 2 - Is it possible to configure the secondary site under the fr.website.com subdomain? 3 - Does Google consider this structure SEO Friendly? In the end, I want to have 2 sites under 2 subdomains under 1 main domain name. Thanks
