smbrown
Site URL: https://www.konabaptist.church/video-archive-2020-03 I created a video block who's Youtube URL includes starting timecode (&t=5m20s). Square space video block strips the timecode, thought maybe it was the special character, so escaped it with \, that's worse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJKOYDBBNik&t=7m46s is an example, this video will play from the beginning within a video block, and work fine in a browser. How to start a video at something other than beginning? or not have video block strip URL parameters? Edited June 5, 2020 by smbrown Link to comment
paul2009
Try using the 'start' parameter instead of 't'. This parameter uses the number of seconds from the start of the video. For example, for the url that you quoted above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJKOYDBBNik&t=7m46s Use this instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJKOYDBBNik&start=466 Let me know how you get on. -Paul About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. The video is in use as a section background. Any advice? Link to comment
6910studio
I'm trying to use a video as a section background from a Youtube link, but need to skip the first 8 seconds of the video. I have tried inputting the URL with ?start=8 and ?t=8, but neither change the start time. How else can I adjust the start time of a Youtube video embedded as a background? Link to comment

This isn't possible for background videos as they only support sharing URLs without queries, whereas standard video blocks allow embed codes. The workaround is to edit the video to remove the first 8 seconds and then upload it again. If this helps you, please click "Like" below ⬇️ About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017. Is it possible to use custom CSS to set an embedded video (with the delayed start time) as a section background? Link to comment
KellyOD
That's not a good work around because sometimes Squarespace users will want to link to a specific portion of a larger video. This needs to be fixed. How difficult can it be? Link to comment
jackabdiel
Any movement with this? It seems real silly you won't let people control when they place a video in a gallery. Link to comment
Clinamenn
I am a musician and composer. Uploading videos with a specific timecode start is very important for me, especially when pieces have movements. I used the start parameter instead of the t parameter, but still nothing works. Please fix this! Link to comment
