How can I get text to hover over my images (i don't love the inline caption option)

Hi there, I am creating a grid of images on a blank landing page. I am using NOVO 7.1 . I don't know how to code, but would love to learn for this purpose. I need to create a hover title over the images. So they appear the same as the title feature on the portolio pages. The inline caption option isn't what i'm looking for. I want the text to appear in the center of the image, in big text, not colored bar. 

Can someone let me know how to code this?
