marissaleap
We have the Bedford template and just added a Shopify store using the embed code. The store takes about 10 seconds to load. I read we can disable Ajax to speed it up but I couldn't find that option. In researching it looks like Bedford doesn't have Ajax loading. Please advise! https://www.addicttoathlete.com/team-shop Link to comment
colin.irwin
Bedford does not have Ajax loading. I'm Colin Irwin aka silvabokis. I've been a Squarespace designer & developer since 2013. I remember when it was all wild prairies round these here parts. 🐃🤠 Advice I give on here is free, though I may sometimes post an affiliate link or promote something I've written. That reminds me.. ..you might want to check out my Squarespace template finder or have a look at my other Squarespace tips Speaking of tips, 💲I've got a tip jar that you're welcome to throw a few quid into if you think I've helped you. marissaleap
I found that out. Is there anything else I can do to speed up the loading on that page? Link to comment
marissaleap
Do I have to change my whole template to one that has Ajax loading to be able to disable it and speed up the loading on that page with the Shopify button? Link to comment
colin.irwin
Ajax loading is a red herring. It is not the cause of any delayed load on Bedford. Looking on Google it seems that Shopify embeds can have performance issues. I suggest you support Shopify support. In my experience they are excellent. Ask them if there is an optimal way to embed a store to avoid performance issues. I'm Colin Irwin aka silvabokis. I've been a Squarespace designer & developer since 2013. colin.irwin
I just experimented by putting the Shopify Storefront embed into a blank html document. It took 18 seconds to load your storefront. The problem is definitely on the Shopify side. I'm Colin Irwin aka silvabokis. I've been a Squarespace designer & developer since 2013. I have a similar issue, the shoppify button does not charge at a first time (the page needs to refresh and then product appears). Did you solved your problem? Maybe that would work for me. Thanks! maggiemccloud
Hello, I'm having this same issue on my site. If you land on my Shop and clickthhrough to the embedded Shopify products, it requires a complete page reload to display products. You can see this by visiting https://www.glennaneece.com/shop and clicking Yoni Crystals, which takes you to this URL https://www.glennaneece.com/yoni-crystals. If you visit the 2nd URL directly, the products load without refresh. I tried adding the code above but it didn't change the way it's displaying. Link to comment
