Custom CSS background colour change on site EXCEPT the navigation bar in Wells Template

Hey,

Just wondering if there's a way to keep the navigation bar's vertical column white while changing the background colour of the rest of the site using custom css in the Wells Template.

Appreciate any answers. Thanks in advance!

Set the site background-color in Site Styles, and paste this in Custom CSS:

#header {
    background-color: white;
    padding-top: 20px;
    padding-left: 20px;
}

Yayyy! Thanks for the tip, it helped me create this look in Wells:

#header {
     background-color: white;
     padding-top: 50px;
     padding-left: 50px;
    padding-bottom: 1000px;

}
