    Google has stated that come May 2021, this will be a direct ranking factor.
    So this is one more arrow in the quiver of those asserting that SS is bad for SEO.
    In this case, Google has told us that using the old JPG or PNG types is decidedly bad for SEO.

    Hi, tried to load pictures in WebP format which is not accepted by SQ, same with JP2 format. Need to improve the speed of the page by improving the format and size of the used pictures.

    This is an error made by Squarespace theme/software. It auto-generates incorrect schema markup script, which Google automatically flags with errors because it contains errors. There is a solution to this. Remove all existing business information from your Settings>Business Information.
    Take this script/code and carefully replace existing business information/details with yours, be sure to keep all quotes and comas as is. Use a plain text editor file, without formatting.
    <script type="application/ld+json">
    {
      "@context": "https://schema.org",
      "@type": "LocalBusiness",
      "name": "Business Name",
      "url": "https://www.affjfj.com",
      "logo": "https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6a-4323-b81c-2bd70651f814/color_transparent+Final+for+Site.png?format=1500w",
      "address": {
        "@type": "PostalAddress",
        "addressLocality": "New York",
        "addressRegion": "NY",
        "postalCode": "10001",
        "streetAddress": "244 5th Ave, 2nd Floor"
      },
      "telephone": "(553) 557-9577",
      "priceRange": "$",
      "currenciesAccepted": "USD",
      "paymentAccepted": "Credit Card, PayPal",
      "openingHoursSpecification": [
        {
          "@type": "OpeningHoursSpecification",
          "dayOfWeek": [
            "Monday",
            "Tuesday",
            "Wednesday",
            "Thursday",
            "Friday"
          ],
          "opens": "09:00",
          "closes": "17:00"
        },
        {
          "@type": "OpeningHoursSpecification",
          "dayOfWeek": [
            "Saturday"
          ],
          "opens": "10:00",
          "closes": "16:00"
        }
      ]
    }
    </script>

    Once you've updated the script with your business information, hours, etc. Please copy and paste the code into Google Rich Results/Schema validator tool: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results.
    If you don't have any critical errors, then copy and paste the code using Settings>Advanced>Code Injection
    Paste the code into HEADER section. Then save.

    Thank you so much! I changed the max-width to 667 because the image was not completely visible and this code worked perfect. I appreciate your help (and saving me hours of frustration)!

    Add to Design > Custom CSS > then save & reload the site
    /* Mobile - Reels */ @media screen and (max-width:767px) { .gallery-reel[data-width="inset"] { height: 35vh !important; } }

    I'm glad this has been addressed! I can't seem to find any information on selling a physical gift certificate in person? I like to be in control of my schedule and as of yet, don't allow my clients to schedule anything on their own. This means I also don't have an area online for client's to purchase gift certificates either.
    My question is, how do I go about selling a gift certificate in person, where the gift certificate number can be hand written on already existing physical gift cards? Thanks!

    This is a problem that Squarespace needs to address. I have at least 6 blogs that haven’t been indexed since March. I’ve requested that they be indexed and taken all of the proper steps to have them indexed, but there is still something keeping them in the “discovered, not indexed” status, while I have WordPress blogs created more recently have been indexed without issue.

    Hi!
    Not all web speed test tools give accurate results for Squarespace. I can't speak for the Hubspot tool as I haven't used it, but GTMetrix usually works well for Squarespace.
    Taking a quick look, your site ranks an A overall and has good performance. The heaviest part is your JS, so perhaps trim that down if possible, and a few images could also be made a little smaller. You have a few broken links, and I recommend running them through a broken link checker so you can find out where they are and adjust them.
    What kind of page requests do you see? Some initial steps you can take are to double-check your SSL certificate is installed correctly, and follow these steps to set up 301 redirects to send visitors to correct pages.
    I recommend making these changes, then retest your site and evaluate if more changes are needed 🙂
    Let me know how that goes!
