How to track analytics on clicks on an audio block?

I'm not sure if I fully understand if you can or can't track podcasts hosted on a podcast hosting provider. I have an audio player widget and I'm looking for a way to tie a trigger to the widget so I can track clicks in Google Tag Manager. I want to fire a tag when someone clicks on the player so I can track those clicks in Google Analytics. Thanks, Dave
