  1. You can add this to the footer of your site in a markdown block and it works for all plans and sites:

    <p><a href="#top" class="t-top"><span class="arrow"></span>Top</a>
    <style>
      /* Back to Top */
    .t-top {
        font-weight: 500;
        letter-spacing: 2px;
        font-size: 15px;
        text-transform: lowercase;
        text-align: center;
        line-height: 1.6;
        padding-left: 2px;
        padding-top: 4px;
        position: fixed;
        right: 25px;
        bottom: 60px;
        width: 40px;
        height: 40px;
        z-index: 999;
        background-color: transparent;
        color: #000;
      filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666)
    }
    .t-top .arrow:before {
          font-family: 'squarespace-ui-font';
        font-style: normal;
        font-weight: 300;
        font-size: 20px;
        line-height: 1;
        -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
        content: "\e02d";
        text-align: center;
        display: block;
        vertical-align: middle;
        transform: rotate(-90deg);
        cursor: pointer;
        margin-left: -4px;
      filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666)
    }
    .t-top .arrow {display:inline;}
    </style></p>

  2. I think they are suggesting Brine or Bedford because the look of 7.1 is based on the Brine family and Bedford inspired the Brine family. Both like 7.1 have page sections, and parallax scrolling if you want it. 7.1 is a major configuration design tool change from 7.0 but if it is the look you want, then Brine will be a much easier "upgrade" to make. If you switch to Brine I would stay with it. It is considered by many professional web site designers to still be the best template on the web.

  3. I wouldn't worry about it. The search engines will drop it eventually, there is nothing you can do right now since the link doesn't go anywhere. Renaming a page is one thing but the main domain change which happens with websites a lot confuses the engines for a while. I would be more concerned about my main domain and you can check for any broken link here:

  4. You need to edit the blog page.  Choose the page, the menu comes up on the right then edit the section. The next menu block could pop up on either side of the page. Scroll down to text, the first choice is text alignment, and you choose either left, center, or right.

  5.  I just searched again and you are still at the top of the page but the snippet changed to the following. There are some links looking for old pages but that can be remedied using a redirect: Squarespace vacant page url redirect.

  7. I do know how to change the color of one post and leave the home page and all other posts alone. You will need the ID for the post you wish to change, that ID replaces the one in this snippet, and you can change the color. To acquire the page id use this Chrome extension: Squarespace block/page ID finder.

    #post-5fbc6c1172f8b574a0e3959c {   background-color: red;

      }

    You can post the above code multiple times using the specific id for each blog post.

  8. Who hosts your existing domain? Is it with Squarespace or  Tucows? If so this is the procedure to move to a new Squarespace site.

    Tucows and Squarespace domains

    If you registered or transferred a domain to Squarespace, Squarespace is your domain provider.

    We sell domains through two registrars, Squarespace Domains LLC and as a reseller of Tucows domains. To determine which of these is your domain's registrar:

    1. Log into the site or parking page with the domain.
    2. If your domain is connected to a site, open the Domains panel
    3. Click the domain.
    4. Find the Provider at the top of the page. Here it shows either Squarespace Domains LLC or Tucows.

    Tucows is in your Whois record but Squarespace isn't your provider

    Tucows sells domains directly and through other resellers. If you see Tucows listed in your Whois record, visit your account dashboard to see who is listed as the provider.
