Video block not playing on mobile phone

Hello,

I have a video block with no player controls and a Custom featured image which works as intended on desktop.
Everything also looks as intended on squarespace editor's previews for both mobile and tablet, but not on actual mobiles and tablets.

On mobile phones, the featured images shows but nothing happens when one taps or double taps on the video.

On tablets, the featured images also shows, nothing happens on single tapping the video but the player switches to full screen when double taps, the player controls then show (which I don't want) but at least one can play the video.

I looked around and saw there was a problem with iOS 14.7 but it seems to have been fixed for everybody else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Maxsabo this issue seems to a problem still for iOS 17.4
I had to change my video to show 'minimal' controls and it now works on iOS mobile devices.
