Connecting Sub-domains

Recommended Posts

We have our main site, www.tutoringprof.com, and we are creating a new site and we would like it to be  www.becomeapharmacist.tutoringprof.com (so a subdomain). (we own both domains) Our question is, how do we connect that domain to the new site, in a way that it doesn't overwrite our main site. The reason we are doing this is that we are trying to segment our messaging and avoid hitting the 400 page limit cap on the main site. What are the steps to do this? The end goal is that when a user types in becomeapharmacist.tutoringprof.com, that it takes them to that URL and retains that URL slug. Currently its returning back to becomeapharmacist.squarespace.com.

If you have a Squarespace-managed domain or third-party domain connected to Squarespace via Nameserver Connect, you'll want to connect (not forward) the subdomain as the primary domain of the new site. Please see Creating a subdomain for your Squarespace site.

Where I'm confused is where to follow these instructions? Do I need to do this on the new site or my original site where my domain currently lives? The objective is to have my new site contain the subdomain prefix. For example: becomeapharmacist.tutoringprof.com. So do I then go to my new site (becomeapqarmacist) and connect to my current domain (tutoringprof.com) and create the subdomain there? The key is that tutoringprof.com is my main site and I want to have a bunch of subdomain websites that brand off of the main site.
