Best way to test a new site design W/O effecting my first design?

I want to try an new layout and not mess up the first design I did.

I am not sure about how to go about it since I'm going to be use the same assets just a different layout.

If 7.0, you can use Preview Template feature

If 7.1, you can duplicate the current site & test on the duplicated site

Hi, I have a related question, if i copied the same but then I wont be able to delete the first one and it asks for billing again for the copied website. Can you guide me through the whole process as this is my first time here and i just paid the yearly subscription without finalising the website. But i want to delete that(But i cant) and build a new one, however it asks me about the billing thing again
