jm21
Hi all, I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help with a workaround for my issue. I need to create a slug with only 2 characters. Reason being is that we created a paid ad that points to a specific slug (formerly on WP). We recently switched to Squarespace not realizing that there is a 3-character minimum on slugs. Is there a workaround for this? I already contacted SS support and they pointed me to this forum. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks! Link to comment
creedon
We can't change how the backend works, needing 3 characters or more for URL slug. But perhaps URL redirects can solve your issue. robrva
We printed a giant sign that was really expensive with a url of two characters to make it easy to remember. I tried to a URL redirect but it will not let since it is on two characters. What can I do to fix this? I never had this issue with Wordpress or Webflow. Thanks in advanced. Link to comment

You have to redirect from the non-existant two character URL page to an existing 3 or more character URL page. /12 -> /123 301 An example URL. This example URL is time limited. For whatever reason SS decided to require 3 character or more characters in URLs. It certainly is not a limitation of web protocols or servers. Find my contributions useful? robrva
Thank you so much! Can you let me know what I am doing wrong in the attached? I followed the instructions in the video. It is not an "old" url though. Link to comment

Quote It is not an "old" url though. Old is not the key concept in this situation. The key is it doesn't exist on your site now and you want it to go somewhere on your site that does exist.
