Bedford: How do I delete the prefooter on the home page?

I have tried to delete it in the edit mode but it doesn't work. Is there a code to delete the prefooter through the whole site?

The pre footer has the id "preFooter" so pasting this into the custom CSS code area will hide it on all pages on the site:

#preFooter {
display: none;

}

The PreFooter does not display if it is free of any content. This can be read in the Bedford user's info.No need of custom CSS code.
