7.0 to 7.1 change, best options inquiry

i began a website under 7.0 (did not finish) and was AWOL until now after 7.1 change. The builder (7.0) now seems to lack features and I cannot continue adding galleries, etc and making any changes on the current template. I am not opposed to deleting the old site and starting from scratch as there is not much content I cannot recreate. Most of the images were placeholders during design and are all backed up offline anyway. My question is system and OS compatibility. I run Mac OS10.13.6 and have reached ead ends with some programs - FireFox for one.

Anyone have any advice going forward? I only want a simple gallery site with information, etc.

Are you sure you started building on Squarespace 7.0 and not 7.1? I ask because Squarespace 7.1 was introduced nearly four years ago in July 2019. You can click 'help' when you're logged on to check which version and template you are using. 

If you are using Squarespace 7.0, I can reassure you that nothing has not changed. All the original features are still available on version 7.0, so if you want to build a site like the example that you linked, you can do this on the version 7.0 Wells template.
