Bergen theme hyperlink to images

Hi, I am using the Bergen theme.  The home page (which I think is a portfolio page) has sections with single images followed by sections with a caption and a link button.   Instead or in addition to the link buttons, I would like to hyperlink directly from the images.  I note that there is no option to do so on the images or the sections that include images.  

Also, I note that if I hyperlink the caption, it becomes underlined.  Is there a way of changing the style of the hyperlink (for example 'on hover' different color)?
