1-Column Gallery View for Mobile (as Opposed to 2-Column)

Hi there! 

I'm hoping someone can help me with something that seems like it should be part of SS functionality, but here goes:

I need my gallery to show as 1 column instead of 2 in mobile view, and I'm at a loss as to the best way to do this. I've tried to add CSS snippets I found in other posts about this, but they didn't work.
