I have seen threads about this, but none of the codes seem to be working when I put them into custom CSS.

I would like to have my home page site header transparent with white font, but the other pages of the site to have headers with dark grey font, as you can't see the text if it's white. Could you kindly help?

I would suggest changing the navigation font color to the grey that you want for all of the other pages, and then add this code to target your homepage navigation color.

#collection-5f1a521a8cf616598e1afbdb {
.header-nav-wrapper a {
   color:#ffffff !important;
}}
