Image animations

I'm trying to find out how to duplicate the image animation that came with this template. It's on the home page that I tweaked. It is not the same as the "clip" animation that's located in SITE STYLES, though it looks close. This one is very subtle and only affects the image on the left, not the whole section. Does anyone know how to do this? I've looked through so many tutorials already. 

On reload, the image subtly appears/fades in from the left side.

The passcode for the website is: zaradesign. It is under construction still; I just started it for an artist.

I would also love some help with this - I have implemented the header code and style changes, but I'm still left with a red background box under the video. 

I would like to cut the excess red underneath the video.
