Need help with mobile formatting of slideshow reel

Hi all, I am trying to create carousel galleries in part of my site to show different publications. Looks like crap on a phone though. I did add a couple different CSS I found that 1 - puts space between the images (because I can't believe that was not an option), and 2 fades the inactive slide - although I don't think it has anything to do with that. How do I make this appear better on mobile? My site is not active yet, but here are screen shots 1st of how it looks on deskptop, and then how wonky it looks in mobile.
