CRM and Marketing for Photography

Recommended Posts

As Squarespace adds new features each year the 'Marketing' sections seems to be getting closer to offering full CRM (Customer Relationship Management) features.

I've been using a mix of Quickbooks and Gmail alongside Email Campaigns to keep in touch and monitor my clients but find it frustrating! I offer Photography and Squarespace design services plus educational work across workshops/webinars and 1-2-2 tutorials.

I really want a simple, easy to use, minimal CRM that offers stats and data visualisation, especially on the sectors my clients work in.

For example, I shoot product/lifestyle for mostly designer/makers. I know my main 2 product types are ceramics and textiles, but the only way to be sure of the exact numbers is to export a spreadsheet from Quickbooks and add the data myself.. Quickbooks does not offer the option for adding extra contact information like 'sector' or 'type' of client.

In Squarespace, I see it's possible to add a 'tag' to a customer in Profiles, but there is no option to see charts/visualisations for customers.. Analytics has data for sales, emails and so on..

Trying Hubspot but find it has way to many options and I get lost in settings.. most CRMs seem very complicated.. I'm actually thinking a google spreadsheet that synced to Quickbooks would be better as you can export / create data from that.

Thoughts? Is anyone having success with a CRM that syncs with Quickbooks? I mainly use Quickbooks because it syncs with HMRC in UK for submitting VAT returns. Sprout Studio is an interesting one but only for US and Canada at the moment.
